Tommy Dreamer Wins Inaugural Bruiser Brody Cup

On Friday night, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Tommy Dreamer channelled his inner Frank Goodish to become the inaugural winner of the first annual Bruiser Brody Cup, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by Gimmick Tree Productions.

Tommy Dreamer Wins Inaugural Bruiser Brody Cup

Dreamer first had to win a Fatal 4-Way Semi-Final match against Dave Dawson, DJ Hyde and Stockade, before facing Michael Elgin in the finals (who had won his 4-Way against Sami Callihan, Matt Tremont, and Beastman). The trophy was presented to Tommy Dreamer after his win by Barbara Goodish, the widow of the late great Bruiser Brody.

With two of Bruiser Brody’s greatest rivals in attendance, Abdullah the Butcher and Stan Hansen, Sami Callihan and Matt Tremont paid tribute to Abdullah in an incident using a fork (Abdullah’s infamous foreign object of choice). While it was Tremont that initially brought he fork to the fight, it was ultimately “The Draw” Sami Callihan who would use the utensil on the “Bulldozer” and former Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) and Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) World Champion.

Following the event, Gimmick Tree confirmed that the Bruiser Brody Cup will continue as a new annual tradition.
