Stardom’s year-end climax saw one title change hands as Oedo Tai’s Hazuki claimed her first singles championship with the company. Former champion Mary Apache held the title for 498 days but due to her commitments at home with AAA only made 5 successful defences in Stardom during this time.

Going into the match Hazuki was intent on bringing the speed back to the High-Speed title as she believes Apache wrestles a slow style. Add to this Apache’s friendship with former Oedo Tai member, and current enemy of Oedo Tai, Hana Kimura and this was a well-built feud over an often forgotten title.

Currently 21 years old, Hazuki has been wrestling for four years and has had a breakout year in 2018. In the faction draft earlier this year she left Queens Quest and her old HZK moniker behind to join the loveable rebels Oedo Tai. Her run with Kagetsu in the Goddesses Of Stardom Tag League allowed her the opportunity to shine and Kimura’s betrayal has moved her into the number 2 position in Oedo Tai. Opportunities have opened up and Hazuki has taken them in 2018. A good run with the High Speed championship could mover her even further up the card in 2019
