While many claim that the members of The Elite (Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Cody Rhodes, Hangman Page and Marty Scurll) aren’t mainstream stars enough to carry a major promotion in North America, they may have taken one step further into the zeitgeist of America when they were cleverly name-dropped on the NFL Network during a segment on fantasy football in a piece on San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (who is a huge wrestling fan). You can hear the piece here:

Through the breakdown of Kittle, Adam Rank stated that “obviously this Young Buck has done a pretty good job of joining The Elite of the fantasy community”. He went on to show a bit of hesitation in starting him though as “he’s got the Bears this week, which is a kind of an American Nightmare for fantasy enthusiasts”. But while “he might be a Villain” going up against Rank’s Bears, but at the end, he’s confident that he can “Hang, man”. Rank goes on to state that so far this year, Kittle has been “The Cleaner at the tight end position in the NFL” this year, and when it comes to starting him, “with George Kittle, I’m All In.” They may not be household names to average America, but it was a fun nod to one of pro wrestling’s most influential factions.
