At tonight’s Defiant Wrestling Refuse to Lose iPPV, current general manager Primate was announced to be returning to in-ring competition at the upcoming Loaded tapings on Monday, December 3rd in Newcastle. The announcement came following Gabriel Kidd walking out of a match with Primate’s ally Rory Coyle, with The Last True Sick Boy then allowing Kidd to reveal the familiar Primate mask from a briefcase while a return package aired on the tron.
Primate told us all the shocking news of his unfortunate retirement at March’s Road to No Regrets show, revealing an in-ring incident led him to suffer a broken jaw that meant he would have to have it wired shut. Since then, the former Defiant Hardcore and Tag Team Champion has been serving as the general manager, following in the footsteps of Adam Pacitti, Martin Kirby, Adam Blampied, and Stu Bennett. His reign as GM was memorable, as we got the Ringmaster Tournament over two nights in July out of it, and several new competitors debuting/returning, including Jack Sexsmith, Stevie Boy, and Omari.
With the most dangerous man in Defiant history now returning to in-ring competition, it can only spell trouble for the rest of the locker room. In particular, Gabriel Kidd. The Young Bull slapped Primate in the jaw at Fight or Flight, one of the most shocking scenes in a Defiant ring thus far. It resulted in a rather sour taste to end what was an exciting night of Defiant action.
Once Loaded comes back, who knows what Primate will be capable of. All that can be said for now though is, welcome back Primate!
