EVOLVE Wrestling made the buzz circuits recently on Social Media and throughout the wrestling community, when several NXT stars began showing up to events and not only competing but winning EVOLVE’s two titles – Fabian Aichner won the EVOLVE Championship, while The Street Profits captured EVOLVE’s Tag Team titles. With EVOLVE having a working alliance with the WWE (and founder Gabe Sapolsky working with NXT), WWE Superstars have shown up in EVOLVE before in the past, including Adam Cole, Cedric Alexander, and others. But prior to the last set of events, the matches featuring WWE talent was restricted to dark matches for the live audience and kept off of EVOLVE broadcasts of their iPPVs. But that ban has been lifted and on Monday, EVOLVE announced more details that shed light on why.
In a statement on their Facebook page, EVOLVE declared:
The new EVOLVE is here.
It features a mix of independent, NXT and 205 Live stars in matches against each other.
It showcases rising stars, today’s superstars and big names.
It is the place to witness today’s new stars learn, grow and create.
#ThisIsEVOLVE and you can’t see anything like this anywhere else.
The new poster designs show a throwback feel to the company, but shows a blend of NXT and 205 Live stars working with some of EVOLVE’s best talent, such as Shane Strickland, Darby Allin, AR Fox and the Workhorsemen, the tag team featuring WWN Champion JD Drake and Full Impact Pro World Champion Anthony Henry.
It’s also worth noting that the Livonia, Michigan event features a rare Shine Championship appearance on an EVOLVE show, as new Shine Champion Allysin Kay (formerly 2x IMPACT Knockouts Champion Sienna) will face Shotzi Blackheart. Also Chicago’s Freelance Wrestling will also be represented on Sunday in Chicago, when Freelance Champion Isaias Velazquez defends his title against “The Academic Standard” GPA (Geoffrey Percival Austere), who has been feuding with Velazquez this summer.
