#AndNEW: Willie Mack Crowned NWA National Heavyweight Champion

At the historic NWA 70 event, there was a tournament held to crown a new NWA National Heavyweight Champion. This will be the second-tier title in the rejuvenated NWA under the helm of Billy Corgan. At NWA 70, there were two four-way elimination matches to determine the finalists for the NWA National Heavyweight Champion. Samuel Shaw and Willie Mack respectively survived Scorpio Sky, Sammy Guevera, Colt Cabana, Ricky Starks, Jay Bradley, and Mike Parrow. Later in the night, Samuel Shaw and Willie Mack clashed, which saw Willie Mack come away with the prize.

Mack, a 12-year pro, has had a breakout couple of years with his notable work in Lucha Underground and Dragon Gate, and recent debut with IMPACT Wrestling. Now with the NWA National Heavyweight Championship, he follows in the footsteps of many former great champions. Men like Jack Brisco, Tommy Rich, Brad Armstrong, Paul Orndorff, Dusty Rhodes, Tully Blanchard, and others have held this title. Men who have gone onto legendary careers and NWA World Heavyweight Championship runs. The future is bright for Willie Mack as he embarks on his journey into history as the NEW NWA National Heavyweight Champion.
