NXT UK Taping Spoilers: Young Prospect Debuts and a Return

NXT UK Roster Update

The first day of NXT UK tapings in Plymouth had two big newsworthy items as the women’s division saw the debut of another youngster and one of the brand’s main stars debuted.

NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Rhipley was given the opportunity to choose her own opponent for the show.  Rhipley chose Candyfloss, a young star who we pointed to as one to watch this year. Rhipley would go on to defeat Candyfloss and build to a match with Isla Dawn, but this was still big for young Candyfloss.  For those unaware, Candyfloss is a highly energetic wrestler with brightly coloured hair and gear who was trained at the ProJo (which has produced many a star) and already toured Stardom earlier this year.  Her gimmick is that of a sweet loving girl who lives to eat sugar and POCKY.  Whether this was a one off or Candyfloss is joining NXT UK as part of the women’s division this is another big step for her early in her career.

The other bit of news we got from this taping was the return of Travis Banks.  Thanks to his excellent run in this years UK tournament, Banks became one of the brand’s lead babyfaces and another great worker to have good matches with the other main eventers.  A newly established heel stable of Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang were cutting a promo when Banks interrupted to brawl.  Moustache Mountain came out to help Banks as the two trios look to be building to a match.  Banks would get into the ring later in the night beating Wolfgang in his first match back from injury.
