While it appears that Matt Hardy may be retiring from in-ring competition due to long term injuries, his tenure in the WWE Universe looks to be continuing. At least that’s what a new report from Ryan Satin at Pro Wrestling Sheet is implying. PWS reported the other day that a mysterious tweet from Matt Hardy is referring to a new project being filmed for the WWE Network, a sitcom based around the Broken Universe characters called House Hardy.
#SenorBenjamin, I need you to prepare The Dome of DELETION & The Hardy Compound for…. CELEBRATION!#HouseHardy is expecting guests in the near future..
And also prepare the Battlefield for MASSACRE.. if needed.
The #BROKEN Universe is ALIVE.. YEEAAAAAASSSSSS!!! pic.twitter.com/CLMKMtVtpV

The feelers for a House Hardy show came from the WWE itself, when they sent out a survey via their website on potential new original programming on the Network. Amongst the ideas was this idea, a Halloween special from the Hardy Compound:
- House Hardy: Halloween special – Go inside the WONDERFUL world of the Hardy family in this delightful short form scripted sitcom, featuring Matt and Jeff Hardy!
According to Satin’s report, the Halloween special would be an unofficial pilot for a potential new ongoing series featuring all the characters from the Broken Universe, such as Senor Benjamin, Vanguard-1, George Washington the Kangaroo, and Skarsgård the Dilapidated Boat, as well as Broken Matt, Brother Nero, Queen Rebecca, and the kids Wolfgang and Maxel. While many have lamented that WWE’s Woken Universe Compound match between Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy was lacklustre in comparison to the ones that originally aired on IMPACT Wrestling in 2016, there is some solace in that Hardy’s principle creative partners – former IMPACT Producer Jeremy Borash and former Coordinating Producer and Video Editor for IMPACT James Long. Reuniting the creative core for the original Broken Universe segments could be just what the gimmick needs to refind its footing.
