SummerSlam 2019 Location Confirmed for Toronto

While SummerSlam has wrapped up for 2018, the conversation quickly turned to 2019. With WrestleMania 35 being held at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, it has been questioned where WWE would host SummerSlam. It has been held in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclay’s Center for the last 4 years. With WrestleMania being in the New York/New Jersey area, many wondered where SummerSlam would move to. Los Angeles, CA and Toronto, Canada were some of the names being thrown around.

SummerSlam 2019 In Toronto

Entertainment Tonight Canada first broke the official news. They confirmed that all events for the SummerSlam 2019 weekend will emanate from the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Scotiabank Arena, formally known as the Air Canada Centre, has not held a SummerSlam since 2004. That event was headlined by Randy Orton winning his first World Heavyweight Championship. He was just 24 years old at the time. WWE is no stranger to the Scotiabank Arena though. They have held multiple RAWs, SmackDowns, live events and pay-per-views there. The Scotiabank Arena is also home to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors, and the Toronto Rock. It has held other such large events like the World Cup of Hockey, the 2016 NBA All-Star Game, and several UFC events.

The SummerSlam 2019 weekend will kick-off on Saturday, August 10 with NXT TakeOver. SummerSlam will take place on Sunday, August 11, and RAW and SmackDown LIVE will follow.
