The Story So Far: World Of Sport (8/4/18)

After an action-packed return to our screens, World Of Sport has set itself up for an eventful episode 2.  The first episode laid the groundworks for what was to come as Rampage walked away as new champion and the tag team tournament started.

Tag Team Tournament Continues

The first episode saw the team of Kip Sabian and Iestyn Rees pick up the win in an exciting and action-packed match.  Ahead of the second episode, two more teams were revealed as we will see the team of Adam Maxted and Nathan Cruz face Doug Williams and HT Drake.  Maxted was featured in the very first bout on WOS when he faced Rampage, Crater, Sha Samuels and Justin Sysum for a shot at the title.  Despite losing, he showed his talents and his team with UK veteran Cruz should see the two bend the rules to help them defeat their talented opponents.  Williams is a legend of the UK wrestling scene and a former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team champion and former TNA World Tag Team Champion.  Williams alone presents a big challenge to his opponents – add in his partner HT Drake and this duo will be a formidable challenge for any team.  Will it be the team of the cocky, good-looking rule breakers or the honourable team that makes it’s way to the next round? Find out this Saturday.

Ladder Match Action

For the first time, WOS will feature a ladder match.   The winner will earn a briefcase containing a “big opportunity”.  Will the winner get a championship match?  Will they gain a monetary bonus?  Whatever it is, you can be sure all four competitors will put their bodies on the line in a high octane match to win.

Women in Action

As announced by General Manager Stu Bennett, there was so much action on episode 1 that they did not get the opportunity to showcase their women’s superstars.

Instead of cramming the women onto the card they are being a featured part of episode 2 and rightfully so.  In the debut of the women’s division, Kay Lee Ray takes on Viper and Bea Priestley in triple threat action.  All three women have travelled the world and perfected their craft with both Ray and Viper being in the first WWE Mae Young Classic.  All three have also spent time in leading Women’s wrestling (Joshi) promotion in Japan Stardom.  Viper was a belt collector in 2018 winning women’s titles from all over the world and Kay Lee Ray put the Insane Championship Wrestling women’s division on the map and Priestley is a world travelled star.  World Of Sport’s women’s division starts with a bang with three world travelled women’s wrestling stars set to tear the house down.
