On Monday night, Major League Wrestling CEO Court Bauer made a huge announcement. After joining MLW earlier this year, Brian Pillman Jr., now a member of the new-look Hart Foundation alongside Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr., will be making his televised wrestling debut on this week’s episode of MLW FUSION.

The son of WCW‘s Loose Cannon, Brian Pillman Sr., Pillman Jr. began training to follow in his father’s footsteps in February 2017. Trained by Lance Storm and Rip Rogers, Pillman made his pro wrestling debut on December 30, 2017, for Indianapolis Championship Wrestling‘s New Years Bash. Pillman, who goes by FlyinBrianJr on Twitter, an homage to his father’s old nickname, defeated Jonathan Wolf to pick up the victory. Since then, Pillman has worked sporadically throughout the indies including twice for Combat Zone Wrestling where he lost a match for the CZW Medal of Valor Title but was victorious alongside Hart in a tag team match.
Joining MLW, Pillman aligned again with Hart as well as Davey Boy Smith Jr. as part of a newly assembled Hart Foundation. It’s another nod to Pillman Jr. following in his father’s legacy as Pillman himself was a member of the Hart Foundation and at the time the only such member to not have been related to the Hart Family through either blood or marriage. Since that time, the foundation has reunited under several names with wrestlers including Jack Evans and Ted DiBiase Jr. being non-family members who found themselves associated with the stable.

The newest iteration of the Hart Foundation debuted in MLW as part of the FUSION tapings held on July 19. The match pitted Teddy Hart and Davey Boy Smith Jr. against ACH and Rich Swann with Pillman, in his televised debut, accompanying the former duo to the ring. While Pillman did not wrestle at the tapings, it does not seem that fans will have to wait all that much longer to see him in action. Aligned with the Hart Foundation, it should be only a matter of time until Brian Pillman Jr. has his own televised in-ring debut.
MLW’s bio for Pillman reads in part:
“One of the most highly-touted prospects in the sport has finally made it to the major leagues. Wearing Bengal print trunks like his father, Brian Pillman Jr. is looking to follow his own path to championship gold, fame and fortune in the sport.
With a rock star’s swagger and look, Pillman can talk the talk. But what separates Pillman from the pack? He can also back it up it up in the ring.
Employing a combination of aerial attacks and aggressive physicality, the 6-foot 2-inch Cincinnati native is an explosive combination, which provides plenty of challenges for his adversaries.
Mentored by his father’s rival, Kevin Sullivan, this Pillman respects the “bookerman,” who took him under his wing at a young age. And the results speak for themselves. At the age of 23, he inked a long-term contract with MLW as he sets in motion what he believes is his destiny to be champion.
Trained by Lance Storm in Calgary as well as the renowned Rip Rogers, Pillman has quickly turned heads with his blend of technical precision and agility.”
You can watch Brian Pillman Jr.’s debut this Friday on BeIN Sports. For fans who don’t have access to the network, MLW FUSION episodes are posted in full on MLW’s Youtube page the day after they air on BeIN SPORTS.
