The Knockouts division of IMPACT Wrestling has become a top destination for independent female wrestlers over the past year. Women like Kiera Hogan, Shotzi Blackheart, Su Yung, Taya Valkyrie and Tessa Blanchard have joined the likes of Allie, Rosemary and Madison Rayne, in returning the Knockouts to their former glory. Recently, on the pre-Slammiversary episode of IMPACT Wrestling, a new Knockout joined the already impressive group. After weeks of vignettes and speculation, IMPACT announced that 27-year-old Scarlett Bordeaux was joining the roster and would be making her debut next week.

Known mostly for her looks so far on IMPACT, Scarlett Bordeaux, also known as “The Perfect Ten” and the “Party Girl of Wrestling,” began wrestling in 2011 and made her professional debut a year later in Chicago for Chicago Style Wrestling. Bordeaux was victorious, defeating an undefeated The Angel to pick up her first career win. Bordeaux’s second match took place for IWA Unlimited, where she suffered her first loss against Angelus Layne. Bordeaux quickly caught the attention of Ohio Valley Wrestling, then a developmental promotion for TNA/IMPACT Wrestling. In just her third known career match, which was also an OVW tryout, Bordeaux lost to Epiphany. She returned to make her televised debut in October of the same year, losing to then-OVW champion, Heidi Lovelace (WWE‘s Ruby Riott). Bordeaux got her first OVW win on the same night, defeating former 3x champion, Taeler Hendrix.
Scarlett Bordeaux continued to wrestle for OVW in 2012 in addition to several other independent bookings. She joined Northern Plains Outlaw Wrestling and Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, wrestling just one match for each. Most of her year was spent in All American Wrestling (AAW), where she worked early as the valet/manager for Shane Hollister. She’s still a regular with AAW, where she now works alongside former AAW Tag Team Champions The Besties in the World (Davey Vega & Mat Fitchett).
In 2013, despite having been in wrestling for just two years, Scarlett Bordeaux made her Ring of Honor in-ring debut against some familiar names in Athena (WWE’s Ember Moon), Cherry Bomb (IMPACT’s Allie) and MsChif. Bordeaux lost in what was the first of only two matches she participated in that year. While she didn’t do much wrestling, Bordeaux joined The House of Truth as Matt Taven‘s valet/manager and spent most of the year helping him retain his ROH World Television Championship, a title he held for a then-record 287 days.
In 2014, Bordeaux wrestled matches for Xtreme Intense Championship Wrestling (XICW) as well as made her IMPACT debut in a losing effort to Angelina Love at the TNA One Night Only: Knockouts Knockdown 2014 PPV. A few months later, Bordeaux wrestled her only match of the year for ROH at Michael Bennett’s Bachelor Party Hosted By Adam Cole. The rest of Bordeaux’s time in ROH was spent sharing the ring announcer duties with Bobby Cruise. Bordeaux also spent time in 2014 working as one of Adam Rose‘s Rosebuds.

Two years later, Bordeaux wrestled five matches for Girl Fight, SHIMMER, XICW, AAW and perhaps most prevalent, WWE, as she performed as local talent in a squash match against Nia Jax.

Having valeted and managed for most of her career, it wasn’t until 2017 that Scarlett Bordeaux began wrestling on a regular basis. Bordeaux wrestled 19 matches that year, which may not seem like much but it to put it in perspective, was just five fewer than the number of matches she had wrestled in her entire career from 2012-16. Bordeaux wrestled for ROH, AAW, and Bar Wrestling a few times but the majority of her in-ring work came while in Japan with Stardom. In addition to taking part in the Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, Bordeaux wrestled for other Stardom events, even having the opportunity to wrestle in the hallowed Korakuen Hall twice. In 2016, Bordeaux also won her first and so far only title when she defeated Joey Ryan for the DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight title. Bordeaux forfeited the belt just moments later, trading it to Rhyno in exchange for his autograph.
It was during her time with Stardom that Scarlett Bordeaux began to develop her wrestling skills and become more of an all-around performer. It’s also where she received her first ever woman’s title shot, losing to Kris Wolf in a match for the AWS Women’s Title at Stardom Goddesses of Stars 2017. Bordeaux received her second title opportunity in AAW in 2018. Bordeaux, despite having a losing record for her career, has gone 3-2 in her AAW appearances this year. The only other match she’s wrestled in 2018 was for IMPACT Wrestling, where she lost to Katarina Leigh in April. She’s also begun working in Mexico for IMPACT ally AAA, where she’s worked her way into contention for the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship, as well as allying with Killer Kross.

As a wrestler, Bordeaux has certainly improved in her five years. She’ll have a chance to improve even more as she finds herself joining one of the top women’s wrestling divisions currently. Iron sharpens iron and together, these women have already made each other better and will no doubt continue to do so. For Scarlett Bordeaux, now is absolutely the right time to become a full-time Knockout.
