Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre had their usual Friday night show in the historic Arena Mexico. The show was in honor of the Mexican legend Atlantis‘s 35th Anniversary match. Although it was Atlantis’s night, Los Ingobernables (Rush & El Terrible) were the ones that stole the show Friday night, when, in the main event, they beat Volador Jr. and Valiente to win the CMLL World Tag Team Championship.
Foul and the pin for the WIN!
The main event featured the hot rudo Rush with El Terrible against Volador Jr. and Valiente (the champions). It was a two out of three falls match, with the last fall being by elimination.
Los Ingobernables took the first fall, while los técnicos took the second. On the last fall, everybody in the crowd was screaming out of their lungs for the match. Terrible took out Valiente with a Last Ride for the first elimination. Then, Terrible via a school boy roll up was eliminated after hitting accidentally his manager on the outside. Finally, it was Rush & Volador Jr. left standing.
The crowd when crazy when two of the best talents that CMLL has to offer were left standing. Moreover, everybody stood up to watch Rush and Volador pair against each other. Volador took the upper hand, hitting his Spanish Fly, but when the referee was ready to count, Terrible pulled out the referee. While distracted, Rush gave Volador a low blow that got him the victory and the titles.
Volador Jr. is out of championships
We wrestling fans like to speculate and Volador Jr. is giving us a lot of speculation. As of Friday, Volador Jr. doesn’t hold a single CMLL title in the company. The “air predator” lost first his NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship against Matt Taven back in march. Moreover, two weeks ago, he lost alongside Mistico & Valiente the CMLL World Trios Championship against Los Guerreros Laguneros (Euforia, Gran Guerrero & Ultimo Guerrero). Now, with the lost against Los Ingobernables, Volador Jr. doesn’t hold any CMLL title with the historic wrestling promotion.
This could mean anything. There’s hasn’t be any report of WWE singing or wanting to sign Volador Jr. to NXT. Volador Jr. has been very clear about his position in CMLL, but, as we have seen recently with Gran Metallik (Mascara Dorada) and Andrade Cien Almas (La Sombra), anything can happen.
Rush & Terrible recapture gold
Rush is a former World Tag Team Champion, having won the titles back with Ingobernable member La Mascara. Terrible on the other hand, is the National Heavyweight Champion and now captures his second championship, previously winning the title with Bullet Club Firing Squad leader Tama Tonga.
