For two months, the WWE Universe has been anxiously awaiting the Smackdown Live on-screen debut of SAnitY, the trio of Eric Young, Alexander Wolfe and Killian Dain. Ever since their first vignette post WrestleMania, fans have been wondering when SAnitY would finally make their presence felt on the Blue Brand.
SAnitY made their NXT in late 2016, when newly signed Eric Young (who had recently departed Impact Wrestling after over a decade with the company) arrived with Alexander Wolfe (formerly “Axman” Axel Tischer from wXw), Sawyer Fulton and Nikki Cross (formerly Nikki Storm in the UK scene). The quartet began a mission of chaos, running rampant through NXT. Fulton went down with an injury in the first month and his spot was ultimately replaced by Killian Dain (formerly Big Damo in the UK), who has held the fourth spot since November of 2016.
SAnitY would hold the NXT Tag Team titles for 102 days, employing the Freebird Rules where any combination of Young, Wolfe and Dain could defend them, before ultimately losing the titles to Undisputed Era‘s Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish last December. Meanwhile, Nikki Cross became a constant threat to the NXT Women’s Championship for months. When SAnitY was first announced as heading to Smackdown Live, the vignettes only showed three of the four arriving – Nikki Cross was noticeably absent. But after a seeming swan song match with Shayna Baszler this past weekend at NXT Takeover: Chicago II, perhaps the group’s delayed arrival could have been to wait for Cross to ultimately re-join the squad up on the main roster.
It was announced on the WWE website today that SAnitY will finally be making their debut tonight and they’re arriving to make an impact immediately – they’ll be taking on former 5x WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos tonight. Although as is the case with the mind games of SAnitY, we won’t know which two members of the trio will be facing off – or if Nikki Cross will finally be rejoining her boys.
