Last night at Night 1 of Stardom‘s Dream Slam 2018, ICW Women’s Champion Viper defeated Stardom SWA Champion Toni Storm in a title vs. title match. This marks Viper’s second title win in Stardom since joining the Japanese company in 2016 and first major singles title. Alongside the SWA Championship, Viper is currently a co-champion with Io Shirai and HZK in Queen’s Quest of the Artist of Stardom Championship (their trios title).

The SWA Championship was created by Stardom as the international World Championship to represent Stardom’s World Alliance, which includes the UK’s British Empire Wrestling (BEW), Association Biterroise de Catch (ABC) out of France, Mexico’s Women Wrestling Stars (WWS) and Revolution Championship Wrestling (RCW) in Spain, debuting in 2016. Io Shirai defeated Toni Storm in the title tournament finals in May of 2016 at a show in Spain to capture the inaugural SWA Championship, before Storm defeated her later that year in July to claim the title for herself. Toni Storm then went on to hold the title for 612 straight days until losing it to Viper last night.

It didn’t take long for Viper to get a challenger for her new title. Directly after winning the SWA Championship, Viper was confronted by Jungle Kyona, setting up Viper’s first title defense this coming Sunday.
