In a shocking turn of events, current Impact Wrestling Champion (as well as Defiant, IPW:UK and WSW Champion) Austin Aries returned to Ring of Honor and appeared at tonight’s ROH 16th Anniversary PPV. In a master stroke of timing, he showed up just moments after his World title defence against Kongo Kong and Matt Sydal finished up on Twitch for Impact’s Last Chancery event. He arrived carrying all four of his belts, continuing his “belt collector” gimmick, declaring he was back in ROH to collect the one belt in Ring of Honor he never got – the Ring of Honor Television title. He came out following current champion Kenny King successfully defended the title against former champ Silas Young in their rematch. While Austin Aries is currently working as a free agent with Impact Wrestling (not signed exclusive), the appearance of the titles would seem to indicate some kind of agreement between ROH and Impact Wrestling. Could all of the promotions finally be uniting against the WWE?
