And the names keep coming. After announcing the arrivals of War Machine and Ricochet, WWE has followed things up with Candice LeRae. Many thought it was only a matter of time after her appearance in the Mae Young Classic, but it is now official.
Welcome to @WWE, @CandiceLeRae! https://t.co/aMbYkhEGOi

Candice LeRae has been wrestling around the world for over 15 years. One half of The World’s Cutest Tag Team with Joey Ryan, LeRae has been one of the most popular talents in North America. She will be reunited with her husband Johnny Gargano. Though she had made several appearances between the Mae Young Classic and NXT, Candice Wrestling was performing on a per-appearance basis. With the Mixed Match Challenge coming up, it is worth noting that Candice LeRae has been at the forefront of intergender wrestling for well over a decade.
The first ever Royal Rumble match featuring 30 women is happening within a matter of weeks. Will we see her there? Or perhaps in her husband’s corner as he attempts to take the NXT Championship from Andrade “Cien” Almas? Either option makes sense. The WWE doesn’t have 30 women on their current roster, but Almas has Zelina Vega in his corner. Of course with TakeOver: Philadelphia the night before the Rumble, it doesn’t need to be one or the other. Perhaps she will make appearances at both. Or neither. While we are uncertain of her immediate trajectory, there is one notable element to the announcement. While War Machine and Ricochet were announced by the NXT Twitter account, LeRae was announced by the WWE’s account. In a company with such an emphasis on social media, we would be surprised if this was merely coincidental.
The WWE and NXT are making huge moves with today’s official signings. The recent influx of talent is certainly exciting, but when will they all debut? And on what roster? Is it coincidental that such big names are being brought in before the Rumble? These questions might be unanswered, but one thing is for certain: The WWE Universe better be ready to take a trip on Ms. LeRae’s Wild Ride.
