Upcoming Indie Events for Potential Impact Tapings

Two indie promotions have announced upcoming events in partnership with Impact Wrestling that seem to indicate they will be having matches taped for upcoming editions of Impact Wrestling, as part of the recent initiative that has shown Impact talent competing in indie promotions around the world. Both cards are star studded with Impact talent and it appears there will be Impact tapings of matches for upcoming episodes.

WRESTLE PRO, New Jersey, February 3, 2018

Wrestle Pro is an indie promotion based out of Rathway, New Jersey, whose February 3, 2018 event is aptly entitled Brace For IMPACT! Wrestle Pro was founded in 2016 by long time indie wrestling veteran Pat Buck. The event features many Impact stars, such as Alberto El Patron, Bobby Lashley, Eli Drake, Matt Sydal, Moose, Allie, Braxton Sutter and Fallah Bah, as well as former WWE Superstar Emma (Tenille Blackwood) against former Knockout Angelina Love.

BORDER CITY WRESTLING, Ontario, Canada, March 3, 2018

Border City Wrestling (BCW) has appeared prominently on Impact’s broadcasts for months now and being owned by one of Impact’s new Executives, Scott D’Amore, it’s no surprise. Founded in 1993, BCW is also the home promotion of D’Amore’s Can-Am Wrestling School who has produced multiple wrestling champions, including Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Rosemary, Moose and KUSHIDA. Matches have yet to be announced for March Breakdown, but Impact stars appearing include Alberto El Patron, Sienna, Allie, Kongo Kong, Moose, Matt Sydal, Trevor Lee, Eli Drake, hometown hero Petey Williams and new Impact World Champion Austin Aries.

With the recent announcement of Impact Wrestling’s new partnership with Twitch to produce original content for the streaming site, some of these Impact tapings at the regional indies could also end up as part of the programming for their new channel. Early reports are suggesting that the announced Barbed Wire Massacre III match between OvE and LAX will be moving to the Twitch channel, despite still being advertised for next week’s Impact on PopTV. The storyline would be that it’s too graphic for national TV and could be used to help draw attention to the launch of their new Twitch channel.
