Ring of Honor has just announced that former WWE Superstar Simon Gotch – now wrestling as Simon Grimm – will be debuting with ROH this weekend at their Fort Lauderdale and Lakeland, Florida events.

As Simon Gotch, Grimm was part of the tag team The Vaudevillains, a gimmick that he appears to be continuing somewhat. He debuted in NXT in 2013 as a singles wrestler before being paired with Aiden English in 2014. The duo became a cult favourite tag team at Full Sail University, peaking in 2015 when they won the NXT Tag Team titles. The pair debuted on the main roster following WrestleMania 32, defeating The Lucha Dragons (Kalisto & Sin Cara) on their Smackdown Live debut. But after a strong start on the Blue Brand, the team seemed to lose the favour of WWE management and stories of Simon Gotch’s backstage “issues” began to circulate. He was released from the WWE in the spring of this year.
He returned to the indie scene in July of this year, and has since made appearances with CHIKARA (at King of Trios), Pro Wrestling Revolver, Rockstar Pro and England’s XWA. Prior to his WWE career, he wrestled on the indie circuit as Ryan Drago, wrestling primarily with Harley Race‘s World League Wrestling (WLW) out of Missouri.
There’s no word yet on Grimm’s involvement at this weekend’s ROH events.
