An hour or so ago, CHIKARA ref Larry “The Peacemaker” Pearce posted an interesting tweet regarding the only 25 Twitter accounts that WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon actively follows on the Social Media platform.

An interesting read, with some obvious choices, such as family and WWE departments, but there are some interesting omittances and two strange choices. Here’s screencaps of Vince McMahon’s entire 25 Follow list on his official Twitter account.
Ok, the first six are all pretty obvious choices. A WWE charity, his daughter and son-in-law, the US President who’s in his Hall of Fame, and one of the WWE’s longest standing employees, also probably a close friend of Vince. Nothing unusual.
Pretty much everything here checks out. So far out of the first twelve, Sheamus is the only actual wrestler he’s following. But it’s no surprise really – Vince has always had a thing about pushing Irish wrestlers and Sheamus is pretty much his wet dream. Part of me is almost certain that when Vinnie Mac poses in front of the mirror, he sees Sheamus.
Okay, another series of WWE departments, plus Good Ol’ JR. Surprising he follows NXT but I suppose that’s his way of “scouting the indies”. Ah look another – wait, hold on. Is that…? AJ Lee. Yes, that’s right, Vince McMahon is following AJ Lee. We’re into 18 of his 25 followers, and so far the only two wrestlers he follows (not including Triple H) are Sheamus and AJ Lee.
In the words of Monty Python, “and now for something completely different”.
The last three are pretty obvious reasoning. John Cena is a no-brainer. Keeping on his heroic good deeds to retweet is something even Vince can grasp. But with his final three follows on Twitter, he chose two WWE Superstars – Zack Ryder and The Miz – and…CM Punk. Vince McMahon still follows CM Punk. And AJ Lee.

Notable Omissions
Interestingly enough, Vince McMahon isn’t following any of his other top stars – most notably Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins or AJ Styles – or names like Michael Cole or Chris Jericho. He doesn’t even follow all of his own programming – he doesn’t follow 205 Live (which may explain a lot) nor Total Divas. And while he follows his daughter Stephanie and son-in-law Triple H, he’s not following his actual son, Shane McMahon. Just think about it. Of the nearly 100 wrestlers in his employ right now, he only follows – John Cena, Sheamus, Zack Ryder and The Miz. Oh yes. And to top it all off, he doesn’t even follow his wife, Linda McMahon. Not her work Twitter or her personal.
Looks likes Vince is Broski after all.
