Elimination Chamber Preview: Elimination Chamber Match

Elimination Chamber Preview: Elimination Chamber Match. Raw writer Ryan Smith breaks down the Elimination Chamber match at this Sunday's pay per view.

The Elimination Chamber is back! For the first time since 2014, the WWE Championship will be defended in the Elimination Chamber. AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, Baron Corbin, and John Cena will all step into the most terrifying structure in sport’s entertainment. Who will come out on top? Here’s the Elimination Chamber Preview: Elimination Chamber Match.

Elimination Chamber Preview: Elimination Chamber Match

John Cena

John Cena will enter the Elimination Chamber as the WWE Champion, will he emerge the same way? Unlikely. Many people find it hard to believe that John Cena would beat AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, just to lose it in his first defense, but these people haven’t been paying attention.

Back in 2011, Cena won and lost the WWE Championship three times. Kinda deflates the whole “world record thing” doesn’t it? In any event, I don’t think Cena is going to retain his championship at the Elimination Chamber. He doesn’t need the title to make a Mania match special, unless of course, it’s John Cena vs. Randy Orton vs. AJ Styles. Speaking of which…

AJ Styles

The phenomenal one isn’t quite the favorite, but he’s pretty close. AJ Styles has been… phenomenal on SmackDown, and everyone was a little bummed out to see him drop the championship to John Cena. There’s a big reason that someone else is favored to win this match, but we’ll get to that.

Since AJ Styles and John Cena don’t have plans for WrestleMania yet, what if we got to see these two face off again? would anyone actually complain? It would add another great match to a card that is shaping up well.

Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose is not going to win the elimination chamber. Sorry Am-bros, but he’s still the Intercontinental Champion, and it wouldn’t make any sense to put both belts on him right now. In the meantime, he could add to a feud with Styles or the Miz for WrestleMania. Speaking of which…

The Miz

How crazy would it be if the WWE swerved us all and had the Miz win? It doesn’t seem likely, but it’s totally possible. The Miz has been one of the best parts of SmackDown since the brand split, and he’s been a great heel champion. He elevated the Intercontinental Championship in a way that hasn’t been done in years. He’d be a fantastic heel World Champion going into WrestleMania. However, another IC run is more likely, and I don’t see him winning.

Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin is a wildcard. Is he ready for a WWE Championship run? Would they really give him the belt on the road to WrestleMania? No. There’s no way. However, he should put on a hell of a show, probably eliminating The Miz, as well as Cena or Styles, depending on who eliminates who.

Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt has to be considered the odds on favorite to win this match. If not, then why have Randy Orton win the Royal Rumble? They’re obviously building for a Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton WrestleMania match. How fantastic is it that we’re finally going to see Bray Wyatt with the World Championship? I don’t always watch the SmackDown pay per views, but I wouldn’t miss that for anything.
