New York Giants: The Biggest Win In Recent Memory

With their biggest win in recent memory, the New York Giants have now won four straight games and are surging.

With their biggest win in recent memory, the New York Giants have now won four straight games and are surging towards the last four games of the season. This young team pulled an upset against one of the best teams in the NFL. The Seahawks seemed stunned that the Giants came into their own house and ended up with a victory. Their longest winning streak since 2016 has provided a lot of hope to a fanbase that has little to cheer for over the past few years. This coaching staff and young group of players should be proud of the way that they have been playing recently and remember to take it one game at a time.

The Giants Win Their Fifth Game Of The Season

After an 0-5 start to the season, many fans wondered if this team was heading in the right direction. Fast forward to December, and the Giants are now in the driver’s seat of the NFC East with a 5-7 record. Trailing 5-0 heading into halftime, Joe Judge and the rest of the coaching staff knew that they could win this game. The players knew they could win this game and go home with an upset win.

The Rookies Came To Play

Darnay Holmes, Andrew Thomas, Shane Lemieux, Cam Brown, Tae Crowder, Carter Coughlin, Niko Lalos. ROOKIES showed up big yesterday.

Andrew Thomas’ rough start to his rookie year is now completely behind him, as he did not allow a single pressure against Seattle. During this four-game winning streak, Thomas has only surrendered five pressures, a huge improvement from the 39 pressures he accounted for in the previous eight games.

Darnay Holmes, the rookie from UCLA has been improving every week. The work has finally paid off, as Holmes recorded his first career INT on Sunday.

Cam Brown, Carter Coughlin, and Niko Lalos will all start to see more playing time with players like Lorenzo Carter and Oshane Ximines out for the season. They did not disappoint, all three generating pressure on Wilson and disrupting plays before they even got back to the line of scrimmage. Tae Crowder also had his name called, as he came up with his first career sack as well.

Biggest Win In Four Years

Four years ago in 2016, the Giants were in a similar situation this time of year. They were in the midst of a long winning streak and on their way to the playoffs. Granted, the NFC East was not nearly as bad as it is this year, but nonetheless, this team is playing the most important football since that time.

The last big win for New York came in a Sunday night game against Dallas, where Odell Beckham Jr had the Giants’ only score that night en route to a 10-7 victory and sweeping the Cowboys.

This statement win against Seattle sends a message to the rest of the league: the Giants have arrived. They are no longer a pushover, this team is here to play and will give you everything they have. From scheming up a pass-rush to improved blocking and a rising run-game, Big Blue got it done against a tough Seattle team.

Final Stretch

The Giants still sit atop the NFC East standings with a 5-7 record. Their next four games are against the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, and Dallas Cowboys. With the Washington Football Team also getting a huge win on Monday night, the Giants need to focus on these next four weeks in order to have a shot at the playoffs.

Arizona will be a good matchup for the Giants. It will be interesting to see how they deal with another mobile quarterback in Kyler Murray. Also, Daniel Jones is expected to return this week barring any setbacks.

The Giants need to keep doing what they have been on this four-game winning streak in order to keep playing meaningful football in December.
