Dennis Kelly Signs With Tennessee Titans

Kelly is known for being the heaviest player in NFL history to catch a postseason touchdown, but he’s also a solid swing tackle. He’s filled in at left and right tackle, and earned overall grades of 75.4 and 71.7 over the past two seasons, courtesy of Pro Football Focus. Due to Taylor Lewan‘s suspension to begin last season, Kelly started the first four games at LT, and held Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett to only three pressures in Week 1.

Originally drafted by the Eagles in the fifth round in 2012, Kelly started 10 games as a rookie, playing both right guard and right tackle. He has started 31 of 88 career games. He played collegiately  at Purdue and is now 30 years old. He stands 6’8″ 321lbs and is the younger brother of Tim Kelly, the former tight ends coach for the Houston Texans who was named the team’s new offensive coordinator last month. Before he caught a touchdown in the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Kelly scored the first TD of his career against the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the season. He played 358 snaps on the year, helping Derrick Henry to win the NFL rushing title.

Before the 2016 season, the Eagles traded Kelly to the Titans for wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham, a move that did not work out for Philly. Since then, Tennessee has had a solid depth lineman for cheap. His most recent contract was a two-year extension worth just under $4 million, and before that had signed small one-year deals with Philadelphia.
