A Jerry Jeudy trade is likely on the horizon for the Cleveland Browns before the trade deadline in 2026. While some may view him as a potential long-term asset on the roster, there is a lot of solid reasoning to move off of Jerry’s contract.

The Cleveland Browns gave up a 2024 second-round pick to land Jerry from the Denver Broncos in March of 2024. At the time, it looked like one of the more interesting moves of the offseason. Jeudy posted a career-best year, earned a contract extension, and looked like potentially the No. 1 wide receiver Cleveland had been missing.

Jeudy led the entire NFL in drops with nine, according to Pro Football Focus. His production fell off a cliff compared to 2024, and he failed to recapture the explosive playmaking that once made him a Pro Bowl-level talent. While he was revered for having one of his best training camps, the on-field results simply weren’t there when the season kicked off.

With the move off Myles Garrett’s contract and the coinciding move to come when they part ways with Deshaun Watson, the Browns are positioning themselves to be in a younger, more competitive place than when they acquired Jeudy.

Cleveland used two of its first three picks in the 2026 NFL Draft on wide receivers. Jeudy still has two years and roughly $52.5 million left on his deal. A post-June 1 trade would have already cleared significant cap space earlier this year. By the 2026 in-season trade deadline, the Browns can shed even more dead money while still receiving draft compensation in return. Realistically, for a competing team with possibly an injury need at the position, the Browns could get as much as a late third for a Jerry Jeudy trade.
