Jalen Farmer 2026 NFL Draft Profile

Jalen Farmer 2026 NFL Draft Profile

If I was building an offensive line that wants to punch people in the mouth as the ball is kicked off, I’d take Farmer. At 6’5” and 322 pounds, Farmer is a beast. Sledgehammer hands and 34.5” arms are at his disposal along with the strength of an ox. 37 bench reps at the NFL Combine point to how strong the guy is. It’s like he is a moving brick wall in the running game. Although his pass defense needs work, scouts love him and his draft stock is skyrocketing. He will be expected to start on Day 1.

2026 NFL Draft Jalen Farmer Scouting Report

Strengths

  • Farmer’s 34.5 inch arm length is astounding, allows him to move linemen around;
  • Clocked at 17.07 mph at the Senior Bowl, where he dominated in drills;
  • Described as nasty in the trenches, loves playing in tight quarters;
  • Dominating run blocker;
  • Rising on draft boards after sound showing at the Senior Bowl;
  • 4.93 time in the 40 yard dash;
  • 9 foot effort in the broad jump;
  • Achieved 37 bench press reps at the NFL Combine, best of all guards;
  • Worthy of earning an honorary degree in power-gap rushing techniques, like a bull charging at defenders;
  • Proved versatility with reps at both guard spots and right tackle;
  • Scouts describe Farmer’s hands as like sledgehammers;
  • Will be a devastating force when pulling, combining his hands, speed and impressive strength

Weaknesses

  • Despite his strength, scouts observe side to side quickness needs work;
  • Tendency to lower his head on blocks leads to becoming off-balance at times;
  • He is over aggressive at times, leading to mistakes;
  • Loses focus at times, resulting in plays where he doesn’t contribute much or make an impact;
  • Farmer is prone to playing too upright, and at 6’5” this leaves him vulnerable to bull rushes;
  • Lacks quick foot movement, struggles on stunts and late twists;
  • Hand placement in running and passing game needs polishing;
  • Pass defense work is an area with considerable growth needed;
  • Inconsistent technique, high pad level and slower reaction times than a top prospect should have in the passing game;
  • Farmer will struggle against quicker defenders unless his lateral quickness and agility improves

Bottom Line on Jalen Farmer

Physical style on the interior line projects Farmer as a standout for teams that prefer his style, including the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and  Seattle Seahawks. His pass protection game needs work, but his readiness in the running game will mean he doesn’t last long in the draft. Farmer struggled to crack the starting lineup at Florida before transferring to Kentucky. He blossomed as a Wildcat before entering the draft after his junior season. The  Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers have been rumored to have Farmer high on their draft board.
