REPORT: Another Raider Could Be On Trade Block – Will He Receive Any Interest?

With free agency around the corner, another Las Vegas Raider Zamir White could be available for a trade this offseason. According to the breaking news, the running back along with tight end Michael Mayer are likely to be available for a trade so it seems the Raiders are starting to clean house. White was in the prime position to take the starting job last year when Josh Jacobs left for the Green Bay Packers but it didn’t happen that way. Originally selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Georgia product came into the league and never had any breakout year since beginning his professional journey.

It’s easy to see why the Raiders would probably want to trade him since he’s still on a rookie deal and wants to get something out of him. Injuries became a part of the problem last year after suffering a quadriceps injury. With the running back getting overlapped by the likes of Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah, it’s easy for the Raiders to release him if they can’t find a trade partner. White won’t be fighting for a starting job anytime soon but he could aim for a backup role with a new scenery this upcoming season.

Possible Destinations

New Orleans Saints

The New Orleans Saints have one of the best speedsters in the backfield out of Alvin Kamara but the depth behind him is questionable. Jamaal Williams had an underperforming 2024 campaign after receiving little to no carries. Kendre Miller made no difference as frustrations grew with him. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if head coach Kellen Moore adds another backup running back to create some competition and that could mean trading for White.

Los Angeles Chargers

Meanwhile, the future looks bleak for backup Gus Edwards after another disastrous year. J.K. Dobbins had a better outcome in Jim Harbaugh’s philosophy of running the football so the team should probably re-sign him. White won’t make an exploding difference but it gives the Chargers another tool to work with.

Kansas City Chiefs

Isiah Pacheco won’t be receiving an extension this offseason as he enters which could be the last year with the Chiefs. However, he should be back up to speed when he’s 100% but the running back needs help as Kareem Hunt will become a free agent. White won’t put up prime numbers but given his age, the Chiefs could get away with signing him if he becomes available on the market for a cheap deal.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys need help in their backfield in the worst possible way. The team granted Ezekiel Elliott his release before the regular season finale and Rico Dowdle is a free agent. White won’t earn the starting job but they could get him in the mix as a situational player to move the chains.

Baltimore Ravens

Derrick Henry arguably became a better running back since signing a two-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens. However, just like the Saints, the backend of the depth chart for him looks bleak. Keaton Mitchell came back but he didn’t look like he could do so much with carrying the ball. The Ravens should bring in White if he becomes a free agent either way to see how he could excel in this offensive scheme.
