Strengths:
Loveland excels at making contested catches. He tracks the ball well, aggressively attacks the ball, and has a huge catch radius with a great ability to high-point the football. A reliable pass catcher, Loveland is a quality safety blanket for a quarterback. With the ball in his hands, Loveland has exceptional acceleration. He runs hard with good vision and contact balance as a ball carrier.
Loveland’s greatest skill is arguably his route running ability. He runs smooth and efficient routes, combined with amazing athleticism and good speed. His combination of speed and route running allows him to consistently create separation against man coverage. Against zone coverage, Loveland shows excellent awareness and ability to find soft spots in zone coverage. Additionally, Loveland plays with a lot of competitive toughness and is a willing blocker.
Weaknesses:
Loveland has a slim frame and needs to continue improving his play strength. Loveland is a willing blocker, but his average play strength makes him an inconsistent blocker. He loses leverage and struggles to consistently sustain blocks as a run blocker.
