As a new week begins, it’s the perfect time to capitalize on favorable situations and make a smart trade. Here is the Buy Sell Report for Week 5 of the Fantasy Football Season.
Fantasy Football Buy / Sell for Week 5
Buy Brandon Aiyuk
Aiyuk has struggled to find his rhythm, scoring single-digit fantasy points in each of the first four weeks after missing the preseason. In Week 4, he managed only two catches for 48 yards, though he was still tied for second on the team with five targets. The 49ers spread the ball around and didn’t need to pass much after taking an early lead. Better days are ahead for Aiyuk as the 49ers face the Cardinals in Week 5. Arizona just allowed 42 points to the Commanders and has surrendered at least 30 points in three of four games this season. This matchup offers Aiyuk a prime opportunity to break out and return to his usual fantasy production.
Buy Najee Harris
Harris struggled with inefficiency in the run game, managing just 19 rushing yards on 13 carries. However, he salvaged his day with three receptions for 54 yards. Looking ahead, Harris has two favorable matchups in the next two weeks against the Cowboys and Raiders, both of which are giving up an average of over 26 points per game to opposing running backs and rank among the bottom ten in defending the position. Harris is poised for a potential breakout starting in Week 5, making this an ideal time to buy low on him.
Sell Michael Pittman Jr.
Pittman Jr. finally delivered a big performance in Week 4 of the NFL season, hauling in six catches on nine targets for 113 receiving yards. In the first three weeks combined, he only managed 11 catches for 88 yards. This surge in production was partly due to quarterback Anthony Richardson leaving the game in the first quarter with an injury. Veteran Joe Flacco stepped in and played well, distributing the ball to both Pittman and Josh Downs. This was Downs’ second game back from injury, and he saw an increased workload, catching eight of nine targets for 82 yards and a touchdown. Regardless of who is at quarterback, Downs will continue to play a pivotal role in the offense. Now is the perfect time to trade away Pittman after his big week.
Sell Rhamondre Stevenson
Stevenson had an average performance in Week 4, totaling 43 rushing yards and 19 receiving yards on four receptions. However, he fumbled for the fourth straight game to start the season. Antonio Gibson will start cutting into Stevenson’s workload due to his ongoing struggles. After scoring 38.6 points combined in the first two weeks, Stevenson has posted single-digit fantasy points in the last two games. With the Patriots‘ offense performing poorly, these struggles are likely to continue. Now is the time to trade Stevenson before his value declines further.
Sell Courtland Sutton
Sutton caught the only TD of the game between the Broncos and the Jets. This was a disastrous offensive showing for both teams. Quarterback Bo Nix only threw 60 yards and Sutton had 60 receiving yards as Denver had multiple players with negative receiving yards. However, Sutton only had three catches on nine targets. Nix is struggling with his accuracy which hurts Sutton’s production. The touchdown saved the day for Sutton as he finished with 15 fantasy points after he scored 13.8 the previous week. This Broncos offense is not good enough for Sutton to be a consistent fantasy scorer. Consider selling him before Week 5 after two good games in a row.
