Packers vs Eagles Predictions & Promos

The Packers vs. Eagles game takes place in Brazil on Friday. But whose gameplan is most likely to travel with the team, ending in a win?

The Green Bay Packers (0-0) will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles (0-0) at the Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The two NFC sides hope that their respective quarterbacks will lead them back to the postseason. This will be the second full season as QB1 for Jordan Love. Meanwhile, Jalen Hurts is in his first year taking NFL snaps from someone who isn’t Jason Kelce.

Packers vs Eagles Prediction

Packers 28, Eagles 18

This young Green Bay side is ahead of schedule and looking to take the next step. While they made an impressive run late, Matt LaFleur will look to lean on a new defensive coordinator in Jeff Hafley. The team ranked 10th in points allowed at 20.6. With the likes of Jaire Alexander and Keisean Nixon in the secondary, many believe this can be a top defense in several categories this year. Questions will be asked of the run defense, but Kenny Clark and Rashan Gary are coming off 2023 campaigns with 9 and 7 tackles for loss respectively.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia is retooled particularly on offense. They will look to get new acquisition Saquon Barkley going as soon as possible. The running back nearly had a 1,000-yard year despite the multitude of issues that the New York Giants faced. With Hurts, DeVonta Smith, and A.J. Brown shouldering a lot of the responsibility, some expect the product out of Penn State to return to a Pro Bowl level.

Ultimately, the Green Bay offense has more of an identity and is more cohesive now. QB coach Tom Clements continues to work his magic with Love, and the young receiving corps is healthy and ready to go from a year ago. Conversely, offensive coordinator Kellen Moore is someone who is known for his emphasis on the passing game. That should bode well for perimeter production, but with the strengths of Hurts and Barkley needing touches, it’s unclear how he’ll juggle these different pieces.

Packers vs Eagles Best Bets

Packers Moneyline (+110)

Cam Jurgens stepping in for Kelce, a shoo-in for the Hall-of-Fame is too much to overlook. The new players and Moore scheme could tell instantly, but most likely it will take time to develop chemistry. Meanwhile, LaFleur and his roster know what to expect and how they fit in their given roles. The line is close for a reason and a win in Brazil by the underdogs is in the cards.

Under 49 (-110)

As fans saw in the opening Thursday Night game, the offenses will be a half-step slow for significant chunks of gameplay. When factoring in some of the overall concerns of this Philadelphia team, it’s hard to see this game becoming a shootout. Furthermore, Green Bay only eclipsed 28 points four times last season. Regardless of who ends up winning, points are going to be hard to come by.

Packers vs Eagles Prop Bets

Josh Jacobs Over 75 Yards Rushing

When playing for Las Vegas, anytime the ball carrier saw 20+ touches out of the backfield he ran for at least 69 yards. Furthermore, he reached the century mark two out of five times when hitting this magic number. This is important because, in four out of the last seven Green Bay games in 2023, Aaron Jones recorded at least 20 rushing attempts, all ending in wins. Coach LaFleur knows the winning formula.

Christian Watson Over 50 Yards Receiving

That being said, Green Bay will need to open up Philadelphia through the air, and Watson is healthy. He will be Love’s go-to target and will at least see his fair share of targets. The former North Dakota State player saw the ball come his way at least seven times in five out of nine regular season matchups. If Watson is on the field, Love is going to look his way, simple as that.
