Cincinnati Bengals 2024 Sophomore Stock Watch

With the NFL opening week upon us, let's look at the sophomore stock market in 2024 for the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Cincinnati Bengals start their season this Sunday at Paycor Stadium against the New England Patriots where they’ll begin a new tradition when they open in orange. The men in stripes will call on several of their 2023 class that will continue contributing on game day. Let’s examine the current stock market for drafted sophomores from last season.

Cincinnati Bengals 2024 Sophomore Stock Watch

Myles Murphy  (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

Although Murphy will start the season on IR with a sprained MCL, the Bengals are counting on him having a big season as an EDGE rusher. He was coming on strong at the tail end of 2023 and ended his rookie campaign with three sacks and 10 SOLO tackles.

DJ Turner II (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

With Dax Hill seeming to win the starting outside cornerback role, Turner will likely serve as his backup and could find ways on the field in obvious passing situations. He had a solid first season and you can never have enough quality DBs in the NFL.

Jordan Battle (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

Another player who will play a backup role is safety Jordan Battle with the additions of Geno Stone and old friend, Vonn Bell. Buy his stock on betting on his future development if Vonn Bell leaves down the road.

Charlie Jones  (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

While Jones was known last season more for his prowess at punt returner, look for him to take a big step forward at wide receiver. He looked good in OTAs and training camp playing mostly from the slot and could play behind Trenton Irwin throughout the season.

Chase Brown (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

The player who could see the most playing time out of last year’s draft class is running back Chase Brown. He is the starter to begin the season and will split time with Zack Moss who was brought in from the Indianapolis Colts in free agency. Brown has fantastic speed and elusiveness and we’ll see if he can handle the rigors of a 17-game season.

Andrei Iosivas (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Buy

With Brown being the player who could see the most playing time, Iosivas is the one we’re most excited to watch in 2024. He has lined up in multiple wide receiver positions this summer with Ja’Marr Chase holding in and has looked fantastic throughout. Cincinnati is counting on big things from the former Ivy League graduate.

Brad Robbins (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Hold

Reluctant hold for Robbins who has a hip flexor injury and will begin the season on IR and miss the first, four games. This has allowed UDFA Ryan Rehkow from BYU to earn the nod as the Bengals’ opening-day punter. Neither punter has inspired much confidence but Rehkow will get his shot to Wally Pipp the incumbent.

D.J. Ivey  (Buy/Sell/Hold)

Hold

The hold for Ivey is based on seeing how he’ll recover from a torn ACL suffered last season against the Houston Texans. The coaching staff loves his ability to contribute on special teams and as a serviceable corner mostly in nickel situations.
