Latest On Jordan Addison Injury

Vikings fans have it really rough right now. Just hours after Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy was announced to be out for the season with a torn meniscus, wide receiver Jordan Addison was carted out of practice. This injury could be a major blow to the Vikings offense, and new Quarterback Sam Darnold. However, it sounds like there is reason to be optimistic in Minnesota.

Potential Timetable

While Addison will have to miss time with a left ankle injury, the timetable is more week to week than month to month. The young, emerging wideout may very well miss the first few games of the season, but early reports indicate it will not be much more than that. Addison may also be suspended for a DUI arrest back in July and be forced to miss the first few games anyway.

Kevin O’Connell Speaks

Vikings Head Coach Kevin O’Connell spoke to reporters about the injury. O’Connell said that he thinks Addison is going to be ok, and he doesn’t think the injury is too serious. He also added that he will miss some time but it should be a week to week timetable for return.

Season Outlook

If Addison returns fully healthy in a few weeks, he should be in for a great season in Minnesota. He is coming off of a great rookie season with 70 receptions, 911 yards, and 10 touchdowns. Superstar receiver Justin Jefferson will still be the number one option in this Viking offense, but look for Addison to emerge as a dominant second option with lots of targets from Sam Darnold.
