Tennessee Titans Schedule: 2024 Record Prediction

Tennessee now knows the full 2024 schedule. Who are their toughest opponents and which ones could give them a break? Will the Titans finish with a winning record? How will Brian Callahan's debut season go?
Titans Record Prediction

The annual schedule release holiday has come and gone, and teams across the league have created some creative schedule release videos. As is their custom, the Chargers social media team took the internet by storm.

The Atlanta Falcons’ rendition, using a fan-favorite throwback video game, had the internet abuzz. Not to be outdone by their City of Angels rivals, the Rams also had a good video.

Tennessee brought back an iconic presence from last year’s schedule release video for the 2024 edition on Broadway. The results are just as hilarious as the 2023 version.

Tennessee Titans Record Prediction

Week 1: AWAY @ Chicago Bears

Tennessee gets the first official look at the much-hyped Caleb Williams in the Windy City. This is likely their final trip to Soldier Field as the Bears plan to open a new palace by 2028. A reunion is in store as former Titans like Kevin Byard and Nate Davis face the team that drafted them. The Titans hold a 3-2 advantage in the little-played series since the turn of the century and have a two-game win streak. Tennessee’s newly built skill position player groups against the Bears’ multifunctional skill groups will determine this season opener. The generational signal-caller takes a beat or two to get his bearings. Tennessee flies home to Nashville with a debut victory for Coach Brian Callahan.

Titans Record: 1-0

Week 2: HOME vs. New York Jets

The Titans host Aaron Rodgers and the Jets in their home opener, and it looks to be a dandy matchup of wits with the legend. Tennessee has the schedule advantage, as Gang Green will play in an emotional MNF return for Rodgers against his hometown team. It should be interesting to see which trench group will fare better against each other’s talent-laden group. New York has the edge in defensive front talent to make Will Levis miserable. The Jets’ receivers against the Titans’ secondary battle will be intriguing. The Titans sneak this one out in front of the home crowd.

Titans Record: 2-0

Week 3: HOME vs. Green Bay Packers

One former Green Bay quarterback exits Nashville, and the current one enters the city. Jordan Love will be looking to build upon his solid first season as a starter. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur once served as an assistant on Mike Vrabel’s staff before getting promoted. He’s 1-1 against his former employers, with both games played at Lambeau Field. If the Packers’ line can keep Love upright, his inconsistent receiver room might do damage against the Titans’ secondary. Offensively, the line has to protect Will Levis from the Packers’ stable of pass rushers. Ultimately, the Flower returns to get revenge, and Love proves unstoppable.

Titans Record: 2-1

Week 4: AWAY @ Miami Dolphins

Tennessee returns to the scene of the crime on a Monday night, where they got away with a heart-pounding victory last season in the dying embers. Miami will seek revenge with their gauntlet of fleet-footed receivers against a revamped secondary. Several former Titans are dotting the Dolphins roster, most notably Teair Tart and David Long, Jr. It will be interesting to monitor the progress of both Jaelan Phillips and Bradley Chubb, who are coming off major leg injuries. The Fish added some veterans like Shaq Barrett, Jordan Poyer, and Kendall Fuller, so their defense will provide a stern test for Levis. Miami gets their vengeance going away in this one near the beach.

Titans Record: 2-2

Week 5: BYE

Week 6: HOME vs. Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis travels to Nashville with new pieces, like Laiatu Latu, Raekwon Davis, and Adonai Mitchell, who supplement a good veteran roster. Anthony Richardson is projected to return as a new man after being injured early in his rookie campaign. If the Titans can get through a veteran offensive line with its rebuilt defensive front, they can somewhat contain Richardson. The trench battles on both sides will decide this one, along with a schedule advantage for Tennessee. Indianapolis faces a rough stretch before and after their first matchup against Tennessee. They face Pittsburgh and Jacksonville before the Titans, Miami, and Houston afterward. The Titans present the most “winnable” opportunity. Expect a fairly even contest in this one, with the home team stealing one.

Titans Record: 3-2

Week 7: AWAY @ Buffalo Bills

The Bills have a demanding schedule to navigate, and Tennessee presents an excellent opportunity to get themselves right. This near-annual series has become a nice rivalry. Buffalo faces four of its first six opponents on the road, with four in five as such. They must face three consecutive away contests against some of the AFC’s contenders. Traveling to Baltimore, Houston, and New York Jets (MNF) is a tall task, even for a roster as talented but retooled as the Bills. Regardless, Josh Allen leads the Bills Mafia past the plucky Titans once again in 2024.

Titans Record: 3-3

Week 8: AWAY @ Detroit Lions

The new America’s Team plays host to Tennessee in the Motor City, led by the recently enriched Jared Goff as their signal caller. Detroit was painfully close to reaching the Super Bowl last season, ultimately falling to the NFC champion 49ers. The Lions are fellow Week 5 bye-week compatriots with the Nashville residents. Tennessee will have a tough time matching up against Detroit’s bevy of weapons. Please don’t sleep on the Lions’ defense either, as they have a lot of youth and veteran talent up front. Detroit holds off the visiting Titans using their run game and stout defensive front. This game lies directly between consecutive road games before and after. The schedule gets interesting, considering when the road date is between contests featuring NFC North rivals. It remains to be seen if Detroit is properly motivated against a perceived weaker team like Tennessee.

Titans Record: 3-4

Week 9: HOME vs. New England Patriots

Week 9 features a battle between youngsters at the quarterback position and first-time head coaches. The Patriots aren’t the same dynastic franchise they were. Jerod Mayo takes over the indomitable and inimitable Bill Belichick after serving on his staff. Tennessee could be facing the third overall selection, Drake Maye, so DC Dennard Wilson would be wise to throw everything at the rookie. Brian Callahan will likely test the defenses of the Patriots’ secondary early and often. Tennessee uses the home crowd and a revamped offense to come away with a home victory. Schedule-wise, the Titans catch a little break as the Patriots could be focused on Week 10’s top rookie QB duel against the Bears. Unfortunately, the Patriots face a gauntlet of eight straight playoff contenders (@ Cincy, Seattle, @ Jets, @ 49ers, Miami, Houston, Jacksonville, Jets) before the visit to Nashville.

Titans Record: 4-4

Week 10: AWAY @ Los Angeles Chargers

Tennessee travels to SoCal to take on another head coach embarking on a new journey, although one with vast NFL experience in Jim Harbaugh. The team that can better protect their gifted quarterback will win this game in the trenches. The Chargers have new faces this season, such as DJ Chark, Ladd McConkey, Gus Edwards, JK Dobbins, and rookie RT Joe Alt. LA also boasts a veteran defense loaded with superstars like Khalil Mack, Joey Bosa, and Derwin James. They also employ former Titans Bud Dupree and Kristian Fulton. This game lies smack in the middle of a brutal four-game stretch for the Chargers, including games against AFC powers Cleveland, Cincy, and Baltimore. Tennessee could take advantage and catch the Chargers in between the Ohio teams. Still, Justin Herbert is a headache for Tennessee’s defense, and the Titans leave Tinseltown with a loss.

Titans Record: 4-5

Week 11: HOME vs. Minnesota Vikings

After a tough outing in Los Angeles, Tennessee hosts the retooling Vikings, who could start their first-round rookie quarterback, J.J. McCarthy. The former Michigan national champion passer won’t be without weapons, as Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison will help the franchise move on from Kirk Cousins. Brian Flores will helm the Vikings’ defense, which features former friends from Houston, such as Blake Cashman and Jonathan Greenard. Minnesota’s defense will run through their linebackers and emerging secondary, so getting the running backs and tight ends involved would be ideal for Callahan. Tennessee represents the tail end of a tough stretch of games for Minnesota. The Vikings could share some thoughts on Tennessee’s AFC South opponents in between quarters (they play the other three opponents before traveling to Nashville). The Titans fluster McCarthy and hold off Minnesota’s defense just long enough to get the win.

Titans Record: 5-5

Week 12: AWAY @ Houston Texans

The first showdown with the rival Texans occurs on the road for Tennessee. DeMeco Ryans and C.J. Stroud will look to repeat last season’s good run of form. They have the most complete team on paper in the AFC South with a loaded defense, great receiving corps, and an emerging offensive line. Former Titans Denico Autry and Azeez Al-Shaair will be for revenge as well. The McNair family (Texans owners) has stoked the flames between the two teams with their lust for taking back all things Oilers. Their most significant additions have been Danielle Hunter and Stefon Diggs. Stroud leads the home team to a victory. Houston’s schedule is challenging, with games against Detroit and Dallas.

Titans Record: 5-6

Week 13: AWAY @ Washington Commanders

It’s a reunion between 49ers front office execs turned general managers in Landover. The Commanders are projected to start Heisman-winning rookie Jayden Daniels at quarterback. Daniels’ most notable backup is former Titans first-round selection Marcus Mariota. Washington also has a new coach and a rebuilt defense in the image of Dan Quinn. There are talented people in the stop unit, such as Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne, Frankie Luvu, Bobby Wagner, and Benjamin St. Juste. Austin Ekeler came over from the Chargers. Tennessee could catch the Commanders perfectly after Washington’s consecutive games against bitter NFC East rivals Philadelphia and Dallas. The Titans face another rookie quarterback and come away with a road win.

Titans Record: 6-6

Week 14: HOME vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence and company visit Nashville first in this bitter AFC South rivalry. The Jaguars return much of their defense but have new pieces like Arik Armstead, Darnell Savage, and Ronald Darby. Josh Allen got paid top-of-the-market EDGE money during the offseason. Offensively, they’ve added the electric Brian Thomas, Jr and paid Gabe Davis an outstanding amount of money. Tennessee has a slight schedule advantage as the Jags have a monstrous schedule before their bye week. They must play Green Bay, Philadelphia, Minnesota, Detroit, and Houston before Tennessee. If the Titans can hold up defensively, they have a good shot at winning this one at home.

Titans Record: 7-6

Week 15: HOME vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Brian Callahan gets to play host to his former team in his first season as head coach. The Titans and Bengals have tangled in big games during the past few seasons, so they have a history. Cincinnati has the Tee Higgins drama to contend with this offseason, along with star EDGE Trey Hendrickson asking for new money. Regardless, if Joe Burrow stays healthy, this is a championship contender. Cincy might be smarting from a demanding schedule featuring a five-game stretch that includes Baltimore, Chargers, Pittsburgh, and Dallas. Tennessee catches a scheduling break as the Bengals play on Monday night prior. Still, the Bengals are the superior team despite Callahan knowing all the tips and tricks, they walk away from Nashville with a victory.

Titans Record: 7-7

Week 16: AWAY @ Indianapolis Colts

Lucas Oil Field has historically been a house of horrors for the Titans. That trend continues as Indianapolis traipses all over Tennessee at home. Anthony Richardson finds his stride alongside his receivers. There’s no schedule advantage as the Colts travel to a weaker Denver team comparable to Cincinnati.

Titans Record: 7-8

Week 17: AWAY @ Jacksonville Jaguars

Familiarity breeds contempt as the Jaguars play the Titans for the second time in four weeks. Schedule strength is a relatively even draw, as the Jaguars travel to Las Vegas the week before and face Indianapolis the week after. Jacksonville wins in a tight contest, using the home crowd and a talented defense to wear down the Titans offensively. Tennessee’s bid to get back to .500 falls short in North Florida.

Titans Record: 7-9

Week 18: HOME vs. Houston Texans

The Titans wrap up the 2024 season at home against the Texans, who might not have much to play for with a division locked up. Houston has a tough road heading into the final showdown with games including Miami, away to KC, and Baltimore. Tennessee wins this one to finish the season on a high note with a better-than-expected record.
