NFL veteran running back D’Onta Foreman signed a new contract with the Carolina Panthers. Foreman spent the 2021 season with the Tennessee Titans.

D’Onta Foreman, Carolina Panthers, Agree to Contract
Foreman played in nine regular-season games for the Titans in 2021. He finished second on the team in rushing attempts (133) and rushing yards (566). Foreman joined the Titans practice squad in 2020 and ultimately earned a spot on the active roster. In 2020, Foreman played in six games with the Titans before joining the Atlanta Falcons in the off-season. The Falcons released Foreman, and he rejoined the Titans.
The Titans resigned Foreman after an injury in Week 8 of the 2021 season, sidelined running back Derrick Henry. Foreman rushed for over 100 yards in three games he played in Henry’s absence. In two seasons with the Titans, Foreman played in 15 regular-season games. He rushed for 661 yards on 155 rushing attempts with three rushing touchdowns.
The Houston Texans drafted Foreman in the third-round of the 2017 NFL Draft with the 89th overall pick out of the University of Texas. In Foreman’s rookie season, he finished second on the team in rushing attempts (78) and rushing yards (327). Foreman signed a four-year, $3.25 million contract with the Texans in 2017. In two seasons with the Texans, Foreman played in 11 regular-season games. He rushed for 326 yards on 85 rushing attempts with two rushing touchdowns. The Texans waived Foreman in 2019, and the Indianapolis Colts claimed Foreman off waivers. The Colts would later waive Foreman. The Colts would resign Foreman to their practice squad in 2020 before he ultimately joined the Titans the same season.
In 2016 at the University of Texas, Foreman led the Big-12 Conference in rushing attempts (323), rushing yards (2028), rushing touchdowns (15), plays from scrimmage (330), and yards from scrimmage (2103). Foreman also ranked in top-five nationally in rushing yards, rushing attempts, plays from scrimmage, and yards from scrimmage. Foreman was the recipient of the Doak Walker Award, which is awarded to the top running back in college football.
