With Week 6 now complete, it is time to move on to the Week 7 action. The Buffalo Bills, Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Jacksonville Jaguars all have a bye this week, but here are some NFL Week 7 survivor league top picks.
Top Picks for NFL Week 7 Survivor League
One team to stay away from this week is the Tennessee Titans. In Week 4 they looked like a really smart bet but then inexplicably lost to the New York Jets. It looked smart to bet against the Titans in their matchup against the Bills in Week 6, but Tennessee pulled off the upset. This week they are playing the Kansas City Chiefs and while the Chiefs are only .500 and not the juggernaut most expected they would be, betting on the Titans and against the Chiefs, this week seems like a bad idea.

Green Bay Packers Versus Washington Football Team
The Washington Football Team is a mess on and off the field. It will remain that way as long as one of the worst owners in sports history, Dan Snyder, remains at the helm in Washington. Washington has only two wins on the season and their wins are over the lowly New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.
The Green Bay Packers are 5-1 and riding a five-game winning streak. And while the Packers are dealing with some injuries, they have Aaron Rodgers while Washington has Taylor Heinicke. Heinicke has had some moments, but he is not even in the same zip code as Rodgers.
Patrick Mahomes torched Washington’s defense in the second half of their Week 6 matchup and Rodgers will do more of the same this week. Washington’s defense is allowing 309.5 passing yards per game which is last in the NFL. Take the Packers in survivor and start Rodgers in fantasy.
Los Angeles Rams Versus Detroit Lions
Jared Goff will return to face the team who gave up a lot this off-season in order to jettison him and his contract out of town so they could have Matthew Stafford under center instead. And Stafford will face the only other NFL team he has ever played for.
The Detroit Lions are winless on the season, and they are coming off of a 34-11 loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals. The Los Angeles Rams are 5-1 and their only loss came in Week 4 at the hands of the Arizona Cardinals, the only remaining undefeated team. The Rams offense ranks sixth in the league in points per game (29.8) while the Lions offense ranks 28th (18.2). The Rams have a significant edge on defense as well. Los Angeles is allowing 21.2 points per game (ninth) while Detroit is surrendering 28.7 points per contest (25th). The Lions simply will not be able to keep up with the Rams this week.
The only reason to not take the Rams this week, assuming they are still available to do so, would be to save them for their Week 8 game against the Houston Texans.
Arizona Cardinals Versus Houston Texans
The Cardinals are the only remaining unbeaten team in the NFL and their dynamic quarterback Kyler Murray hasn’t even had to show everything of which he is capable yet. The Texans are a mess and at 1-5 are one of the worst teams in the NFL.
The Texans defense ranks 27th in scoring (28.7 points per game) while the Cardinals defense is allowing only 18.2 points per game (second). The Cardinals offense ranks fourth in scoring (32.3 points per game) while the Texans might not be able to put up a lot of points against a high school team (15.3 points per game, 31st in the league).
When it comes to sports, especially at the professional level, it is difficult to say anything is a sure thing, but death, taxes and the Cardinals beating the Texans this week are certainties.
If the Packers, Rams, and Cardinals are unavailable or saving them for a later week sounds like the right path, taking either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home over the Chicago Bears or possibly the New England Patriots at home over the Jets could work this week too. But the Packers, Rams, and Cardinals are the really smart plays this week.
