After signing Tre’Von Moehrig last offseason, the Carolina Panthers are sneakily building one of the most underappreciated defenses in the league. However, Nick Scott hasn’t been as effective as the Panthers wanted him to. With Zakee Wheatley waiting for a larger opportunity, the Panthers could release Scott before Week 1.
This could allow Whitehead to join Moehrig, Jaycee Horn and Michael Jackson to fortify this entire secondary. With the team overhauling its pass-rush, signing Jaelan Phillips and Devin Lloyd, it shouldn’t be a surprise for the Panthers to want to do the same in their defensive air attack.
