UDFA NFL Contracts 2026 totaled more than $10.6 million on players not drafted. Signing undrafted free agents in the NFL is a tricky proposition. Once the draft is over, teams can go and sign college players who were undrafted, and the enticement of money talks. It is worth noting that even though undrafted free agents can sign a three-year contract for just over $3 million, very little of that contract is guaranteed. In fact, many players have nothing guaranteed or paltry amounts of five to twenty thousand dollars guaranteed.
The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders each spent nearly $900,000 to lead the NFC East in spending on undrafted free agents.
NFL Contracts 2026: UDFA NFC East Signings
Some teams, like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, invested a guaranteed $916,000 on just five players, while others, like the Miami Dolphins, spent $180,000 on just two players. Logan Fano, an edge rusher from Utah, earned the most of all UDFA’s with a guaranteed $310,000 from the Cleveland Browns. In the NFC East, the New York Giants awarded the biggest guarantees to a pair of defensive players, Thaddeus Dixon of North Carolina(cornerback) and Ryan Schernecke of Kutztown (offensive tackle)
We take a look at how each team in the AFC East invested in free agents.
