The NFL offseason has become almost as interesting as the regular season. There is a reason that media days are held and narratives are heavily focused on in the offseason. That is why it only makes sense that NFL QB’s tend to be the focal point of the offseason. The NFL loves it when they are still being discussed outside the regular season, as it continues to bring attention to the product. Who better to stay in the news than the stars of most teams, the quarterbacks?
Over the past few days, several NFL QB’s have made headlines with comments they have made to the media. Here are some of the most recent sound bites from various NFL QB’s.
NFL QB’s Creating Huge Buzz Across the League With Their Latest Comments
NFL QB’s: Caleb Williams and Aaron Rodgers
Now in his third year with the Chicago Bears, quarterback Caleb Williams recently attended an EA Sports event after being revealed as the cover image of the new Madden 27 football game. At the event, Williams was asked who he believes the greatest quarterback of all time is.
“Brady. When you go seven Super Bowls…there’s not anybody close. And so it gets hard to debate that. I put Brady as number one, and for me, Aaron Rodgers is probably number two.”
While Brady seems like the obvious answer for most, the number two position is always up for debate. The fact that Williams picked Rodgers, especially with the Green Bay Packers being the arch rival of the Bears says that Williams thinks very highly of the current Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback.
NFL QB’s: Michael Penix Jr., Kirk Cousins, and Fernando Mendoza
Current Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. was very complimentary of his former teammate and current Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Kirk Cousins in a press conference yesterday.
“The person that he was for me, just helping me make sure I was locked in each and every day, making sure that I understood some of the reads, some of the things that you would get in the league,” Penix said. “Kirk is definitely gonna help (Mendoza) understand getting through your reads, understanding when to eliminate different route concepts so that you can get to the back side and continue to play great football.”
Cousins has been receiving significant praise recently for his ability to mentor young quarterbacks. The Raiders first round 2026 NFL Draft pick Fernando Mendoza yesterday made claims at the Raiders media day that Cousins has been a huge help for him since arriving in the NFL.
“He’s definitely helping me a lot. He’s extremely cerebral and he has been in this offense before. So he already has an upper hand in a sense where he’s been able to teach the other quarterbacks and have experience with the plays.”
If both Penix and Mendoza are saying the same thing, it is probably worth paying attention to. Cousins has built a reputation as a productive NFL quarterback, but his willingness to help younger players may end up being just as meaningful. In a league where veterans are often competing to keep their jobs, Cousins has continued to share what he knows. The Raiders rookie QB is only the latest young passer to benefit from it.
NFL QB’s Remain the Center of Attention During the Offseason
Whether they are debating the greatest quarterback of all time or highlighting the value of veteran leadership, NFL QB’s continue to drive the conversation throughout the offseason. As the NFL preseason draws closer and competition for starting jobs begins to heat up, these NFL QB’s will remain at the center of the spotlight, generating headlines with both their play and their words.
