Broncos QB “Garnering” Trade Interest From Multiple Teams; 3 Best Landing Spots Emerge

As the NFL quarterback free agent market continues to shape up for next week, there are reportedly multiple teams that are checking on the Denver Broncos regarding Jarrett Stidham for a potential trade. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, several teams have contacted Stidham about his availability, with him entering the final year of his current two-year contract with Denver. Selected as a fourth-round pick, the former Baylor and Auburn product helped stabilize the Broncos’ offense in the wake of starter Bo Nix’s season-ending injury suffered during the Divisional Round of the postseason, where the team got the win over the Bills. Unfortunately, the Broncos missed the Super Bowl by a field goal in a loss to the Patriots, 10-7, in the AFC Championship Game.

Still, Stidham has shown potential that he could be a full-time starting quarterback for at least a season. The quarterback has one year left, so it’s no wonder that teams are reaching out. While there are several free agent quarterbacks such as Kyler Murray, Tua Tagovailoa and Malik Willis, Stidham’s potential and contract offer plenty of flexibility. Stidham began his career with the New England Patriots, being in Tom Brady’s shadow for two seasons from 2019-2021, later traded to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The unproven quarterback might finally get a chance to play. While he only has three games, including a championship matchup under his belt as a Denver Bronco, there should be more interest coming soon. However, here are three possible suitors who could finally roll the dice on the potential starter.

Jarrett Stidham “Garnering” Trade Interest From Multiple Teams; 3 Best Landing Spots Emerge

Potential Destinations

Arizona Cardinals

With the expectation of the Arizona Cardinals releasing Kyler Murray, the team will be in search of the next franchise quarterback. Jacoby Brissett’s future is also doubtful, and it’s unlikely he will emerge as a starter, so a more stable, long-term option is 100% the route the Cardinals will go. Arizona needs a Pro and while they could draft a quarterback in the first-round in next month’s draft, they could trade for Stidham to give the team, especially Michael Wilson, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride stability.

Stidham is a low-risk grab for the Cardinals, and if things don’t bode well for the Cardinals, they still have time to establish the quarterback they probably will draft. New Head Coach Mike LaFleur has a chance to start new, and Stidham might be the perfect fit.

Atlanta Falcons

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Falcons are likely to bring in some quarterback competition for Michael Penix Jr., who is coming off a season-ending injury. The team drafted Penix the same offseason that they signed veteran Kirk Cousins to a monster contract. It hasn’t panned out in Atlanta as former head coach Raheem Morris is gone, and now the offense is rebuilding under Kevin Stefanski. Penix Jr. is on high-alert this 2025 regular season, and Stidham could give some very fierce competition.

Los Angeles Rams

This is an interesting, but a good fit for Stidham. The Los Angeles Rams understand that they will need to rebuild soon once Matthew Stafford retires. Stafford has one more season left on his deal, and it’s likely he calls it a career once the 2026 campaign is done. The good news is that Sean McVay has the mind and team to have no issue with getting a quarterback up to speed. While he has Jimmy Garoppolo and Stetson Bennett waiting for a chance, they could bring in Stidham to battle it out between the three amongst themselves while Stafford plays out his final season.

“I’ve Kind of Earn the Right to Explore Free Agency” – Colts 1,000-Yard Standout Set to Leave Colts for Another Team

It appears that Indianapolis Colts breakout wide receiver Alec Pierce wants to test free agency next week despite positive development in contract talks. Pierce appeared on the Up & Adams Show to speak about his future regarding where he’s heading, and it looks like everyone has seen the last of the wideout in a Colts uniform. Originally selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft, the former Cincinnati product made 15 appearances (14 starts) for Indianapolis during the 2025 season, recording 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and six touchdowns. Pierce is expected to be at least a top 3 WR free agent once it commences, and teams are likely to give him the best contract available.

Alec Pierce Set to Leave Colts for Another Team

Earlier this week, the Colts used a rare transition tag on quarterback Daniel Jones to ensure they have a stable leader for this offense. However, it gives teams outside of Indianapolis that might be interested to match an offer and receive Jones for the 2026 regular season. The Colts are coming off a rollercoaster 2025 campaign led by Jones that brought Philip Rivers out of retirement. It didn’t end the way the Colts wanted to, which is probably why the receiver wants to join a team that has more long-term stability.

Pierce is 25-years-old and is at the peak of his career. He’s demanding at least $25 million per year for his next contract, and that might be difficult for the Colts to dish out. The team has several cut candidates, such as wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. and linebacker Zaire Franklin, so if they extend Pierce, expect these players to be gone. However, it’s expected that the Colts will franchise tag Pierce to garner some draft picks in return.

It won’t bode well for Pierce, but the Colts could be playing the long game and want something before letting their best offensive weapon head elsewhere.

Where Will Pierce Go?

While Pierce has a chance to break the market, he will be looking for a team that’s ready to win a championship. Teams like the Chargers, Rams and Patriots are possible destinations for the versatile weapon. The Chargers need a new weapon alongside Ladd McConkey for Justin Herbert in the aerial attack, and someone like Pierce could blossom flawlessly. Meanwhile, the Rams could be in the market for an exploding weapon alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

After trading for cornerback Trent McDuffie, the Rams want to win, and getting Pierce as the final puzzle piece should ensure that Matthew Stafford gets one last win before he retires in 2027. For the Patriots, they’re in the market for a receiver after the shocking release of Stefon Diggs. Pierce could step in as WR1 ahead of Mack Hollins and Kayshon Boutte to get Drake Maye back in the Super Bowl.

2025 All-Rookie Honors: AFC Leads Second Team Defense

The 2025 season is in the books with several rookie standouts getting their careers off to hot starts. Which rookies are jump-starting their careers into future Pro Bowl campaigns? The NFC led the way for the first-team offense and defense, while their AFC counterparts took command of the second-team offense. How will the AFC and NFC divvy up the honors for the second team defense? There are several bright futures ahead, but a murky situation lies ahead for one particular rookie below.

Note: All statistics are courtesy of Pro Football Reference.

2025 All-Rookie Honors: AFC Holds Lead Over NFC On Second Team Defense

EDGE

Jalon Walker | Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons drafted Walker in the first round with much fanfare from the University of Georgia. He broke out in his final season at Georgia, posting 60 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks after sitting behind several standouts. Walker is a freak athlete who excelled in his first season at the NFL level and was the third-best EDGE in his class. PFF rated him as the fourth-best rookie pass rusher with an overall score of 71.6. Atlanta’s star rookie was the first pass rusher that they took in the first round in 2025 in a good draft class. Can he keep it up as the lead dog in the EDGE group?

2025 Statistics: 36 tackles, five tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one PBU, and nine quarterback hits.

James Pearce, Jr | Atlanta Falcons

Pearce had an outstanding rookie season on the field, registering 10.5 sacks in his first and likely only go around in the NFL. He had character issues coming into the draft, and his recent offseason arrest will sideline him for a long time. The off-field allegations (they are allegations despite publicized evidence) include domestic issues and involve the police in a physical altercation. His on-field play indicated that he had a bright career ahead, but the legal issues certainly muddy the waters for the Falcons’ rookie.

2025 Statistics: 26 tackles, ten tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, 16 quarterback hits, five PBUs, and one forced fumble

IDL

Deone Walker | Buffalo Bills

Walker fit right in with the youth movement that Buffalo is undergoing to overhaul a maligned defense. He’s a projected starter with the depth behind him, mostly free agents. The big body nose tackle played a big role in the middle alongside Ed Oliver and free agent Joey Bosa. He flashed signs of potential throughout his rookie campaign and could get a bigger look under new DC Jim Leonhard. Look for his name to be mentioned among the top-tier nose tackles in a couple years.

2025 Statistics: 39 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, one sack, and four PBUs

Derrick Harmon | Pittsburgh Steelers

Next up in the Steelers pipeline of “redshirted” talented front-seven youth? The former Oregon defensive lineman could have a larger role in new DC Patrick Graham’s defense. He has the versatility and physical traits to play inside and outside, depending on the opponent. The Steelers badly need a star to emerge on their veteran defensive front, and Harmon could be that guy. While the Steelers have Cam Heyward, TJ Watt, and Alex Highsmith manning the front lines, they are aging out and expensive. 2026 could be the season in which we see Harmon take the reins as a star lineman.

2025 Statistics: 27 tackles, three sacks, one tackle for loss, five quarterback hits, and one PBU

Linebacker

Jihaad Campbell / Philadelphia Eagles

If not for Carson Schwesinger, the former Georgia linebacker would be the one receiving rave reviews as a DPOY contender. Campbell played a significant role behind nominal starters Zack Baun and fellow Georgia alumnus Nakobe Dean. He produced 80 combined tackles and three PBUs as a rookie linebacker, adjusting to the rigors of the Eagles defense and NFL life. While his short term future is murky due to the talent ahead of him, the long-term presents a future laced with potential if Baun falters or Dean is priced out of Philly’s plans. Campbell could get the starting job if Dean doesn’t return in free agency. He has the overall talent to get to the tippy top of the linebackers in the league.

2025 Statistics: 80 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and three PBUs

Cornerback

Maxwell Hairston | Buffalo Bills

Buffalo remodeled the defense in 2025 and added Hairston with their first-round selection. The Bills have a strong veteran secondary bit by the injury bug, and need a reboot. Hairston looks the part to ascend to a full-time starting job in 2026 after being mentored by a couple of the best in the game. There will be a lot of upheaval in Buffalo with a new coach and a majority of the secondary depth as free agents. The time is ripe for the second-year player to seize a starting role. He has the physical athletic traits to do it. Can he live up to the billing of a first-round selection?

2025 Statistics: 18 tackles, five PBUs, and two interceptions

Quincy Riley | New Orleans Saints

Riley was part of an impactful rookie class for the Saints that saw multiple starters get their feet wet, including Tyler Shough and Jonas Sanker. The Louisville product didn’t have the most gaudy stats, but quickly grabbed a starting role and ran with it. He’s likely in line for a bigger role in year two with New Orleans, which is still somehow in a cap crunch, and Alontae Taylor is a free agent. The fifth-round selection merited selection over fellow rookie standouts Upton Stout and Azareye’h Thomas. His case was contentious between the tri,o and any one of three could have made it, but Riley’s resume was slightly stronger.

2025 Statistics: 35 tackles, 10 PBUs, and one interception

Denzel Burke | Arizona Cardinals

Will Johnson got most of the publicity, but it was another cornerback on the other side of the Game rivalry who stole the show. Burke performed markedly better in his first season as a pro than at any point in his collegiate career. The fifth-round selection turned in a good rookie campaign worthy of a first-team deliberation over Johnson. Arizona’s cornerback room is young, with several players with under two seasons of service. Burke formed a solid cornerback duo with Johnson for the near future. The former Buckeyes defensive back has the look of being a critical piece next to Budda Baker. Arizona is breaking in a new coaching staff, so it remains to be seen if Burke can keep up his form.

2025 Statistics: 49 tackles, two tackles for loss, 11 PBUs, and three interceptions

Safety

Malaki Starks | Baltimore Ravens

Another draft goes by, and the Ravens find themselves with another standout safety. Starks made a terrific impact for Baltimore’s defense in 2025, registering 84 combined tackles and four PBUs. He’s a part of a young Ravens secondary undergoing a renovation with veterans slowly aging out. The former first-round selection is a great complement to fellow safety Alohi Gilman and projects as a building block next to all-world Kyle Hamilton. Georgia has its fair share of do-everything safeties, and Starks got next. He has a bright future ahead of him under new head coach Jesse Minter.

2025 Statistics: 84 tackles, one tackle for loss, four PBUs, and two interceptions

Malachi Moore | New York Jets

Joining Starks in the “Malachi” defensive back brotherhood on the all-rookie second team is Moore. New York selected the former Alabama safety in the fourth round and received a great ROI. Moore quickly ascended to the starting strong safety role and hasn’t left yet. He produced over 100 combined tackles and three passes defended for a rebuilt Jets secondary. New York’s secondary is fairly young and a stout unit, so Moore stepped up into the breach to deliver a great rookie season. He’s showing immense promise in his young career and will be looked upon as a future leader of the eternally retooling Jets franchise.

2025 Statistics: 101 tackles, three tackles for loss, three PBUs, and one forced fumble

Craig Woodson | New England Patriots

The Patriots got contributions up and down from their rookie class, none bigger than their fourth-round selection in Woodson. He starred in the playoffs, racking up 30 tackles, four tackles for loss, six PBUs, and one interception. The former Cal safety led the team in tackles during the Super Bowl despite the Seahawks dominating. New England got a steal in the fourth round with the emerging starting safety. While Christian Gonzalez gets the rightful publicity, Woodson harkens Patriots fans back to the days of Lawyer Milloy and, recently, Devin McCourty. He possesses that kind of potential for the AFC contenders.

2025 Statistics: 79 tackles, four tackles for loss, and three PBUs

Rams Are the Best in the Draft and They Prove It Every Year

The Los Angeles Rams’ drafting process is unlike any other in the league. As they have every year since 2021, they chose not to attend the scouting combine.

The Rams don’t see the value in attending the combine due to “efficient time management.”

How Rams Evaluate Players

The Rams believe the most important factor in evaluating players in the draft is game film. After the film review, the front office uses the Scouting Combine information to assess players in conjunction with its scouting department.

“We’re very intentional about how we use the combine,” Rams general manager Les Snead said in 2022. “Maybe we’re not there to see subset player, jump, or do his broad jump. But we certainly utilize the numbers as they come in.”

Snead has been the general manager since 2012, but his drafting success began in 2016 when he drafted Jared Goff and Tyler Higbee. From 2016 to 2021, he was more successful in free agency than in the draft, signing players like Andrew Whitworth, Robert Woods, and Jalen Ramsey. During the 2021 championship run, Snead even traded for Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller in the middle of the season, becoming a pivotal reason the Rams won.

Why the Rams Redirected Their Draft Style

The 2021 championship team that had hoisted the Lombardi trophy wasn’t built to last more than a season. Filled with many veterans who were late in their primes, Snead broke the team apart and restarted from scratch. After 2021, Snead and the front office have done less trading and acquiring and relied more on drafting and developing.

There was no Scouting Combine in 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the Rams adjusted their scouting philosophy.

“There’s a lot of different ways of being able to get the information that’s necessary to make sound decisions as it relates to the draft and free agency, and there’s a lot of trust that I have in Les and his group to do that,” head coach Sean McVay continued.

Since 2021, the Rams have drafted players who have contributed either to their own roster or elsewhere in the league. Snead has done a great job drafting All-Pros, Pro Bowlers, and players who have contributed to the Rams’ recent success.

Rams Combine Intentions

The Rams and the Jaguars are the only two teams that don’t attend the NFL Scouting Combine regularly. While many teams don’t send their coaches, many send general managers or front office personnel to evaluate players. The Scouting Combine gives teams the ability to see just how good players are with their own eyes. The event also helps teams evaluate players based on their strengths. Not every player is exceptional, but if teams see a player with a specific skill, they can choose to select them later in the draft. It also allows players to demonstrate skills their team didn’t showcase to best use their talent.

In lieu of attending the combine, the Rams have done a great job of evaluating late-round talent the last few years, including drafting their superstar receiver, Puka Nacua, in the fifth round in the 2023 draft.

“At the end of the day, Les and I felt like our time would be best utilized staying back, being able to so some things and there’s a lot of layers to that,” McVay said.

Fantasy Football 2026: Kyler Murray Released, Perfect Fit For ATL

The Arizona Cardinals have finally done it. The Cardinals announced that they will be parting ways with quarterback Kyler Murray at the start of the new league year if they can not get a trade partner. This has been the thought process since the start of the offseason. Murray has been with the Cardinals since being drafted in 2019. With Murray getting ready to hit the free agent market at the start of the new league year, he will be one of the more sought-after quarterbacks in this cycle. And there are plenty of teams that need a quarterback.

The Indianapolis Colts are trying to get a deal done with Daniel Jones, using the transition tag as a placeholder. The New York Jets are also releasing their quarterback, Justin Fields, putting them in the market for a quarterback. The Minnesota Vikings are also looking for another quarterback, with reports surfacing that they want to move on from J.J. McCarthy.

With Murray about to hit free agency, there is one team that would benefit from landing him, which could not only save his career but bring him back to fantasy relevancy. The Atlanta Falcons. Now, why does this make the most sense? With reports that the Falcons are “noncommittal” on quarterback Michael Penix, Jr., the door is open for the Falcons to find another quarterback. The Falcons are also releasing former starter Kirk Cousins at the beginning of the new league year. With Cousins out the door and Penix dealing with ACL recovery, the Falcons need to have a quarterback ready to start the season.

Fantasy Football 2026: Kyler Murray Released, Perfect Fit For ATL

The Falcons have all the tools needed on offense to compete for the division title if they were to land Murray. Drake London is a top-tier wide receiver in the NFL who was close to finishing with another 1,000-yard season. The Falcons placed the franchise tag on talented tight end Kyle Pitts in the hopes of getting a long-term deal done. And then there is Bijan Robinson. No need to go into detail there, as the NFL world knows how he is moving. With these three cornerstones in place, matched with Murray’s passing skills and rushing ability, the Falcons offense could be one of the more dangerous units in the NFC South.

The Falcons have moved on from Raheem Morris and added Kevin Stefanski as the head coach and Tommy Rees as the offensive coordinator. While their final year in Cleveland was not the greatest, they have much better weapons to work with this time around. Adding Murray as a dual-threat with Robinson lurking in the backfield could work. In his five games with the Cardinals before going down with an injury, Murray passed for 962 yards with a 68.3% completion rate. Murray also had seven total touchdowns and added another 173 yards rushing.

Murray averaged 192.4 passing yards per game over the five-game stretch. Extrapolated over a 17-game season would amount to 3,270 yards. His 1.2 passing touchdowns per game average would have netted him 20 touchdowns with 11 interceptions on a full season. While Murray’s numbers don’t jump off the paper, arming him with guys like Drake London over Marvin Harrison Jr. would be a step up. We have seen in the past what Murray can do when he has a player like DeAndre Hopkins out there to throw to.

Murray’s Fantasy Outlook

Should Murray land with the Falcons this offseason, it would provide fantasy managers with a late-round quarterback option to target during fantasy drafts. Murray was being drafted as the QB9 in fantasy drafts last season. With other quarterbacks like Caleb Williams and Drake Maye stepping up last season, expect Murray to fall into the double-digits in ADP for 2026. But that isn’t a bad thing if you plan to take a quarterback later in your drafts.

Remember that Murray is still a threat to run, which is what fantasy managers like to target from their quarterbacks. It is why quarterbacks like Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Jalen Hurts are heavily targeted early in drafts. Murray has reached over 300 yards rushing in five of his seven years in the league. He would have done it again last season, as he averaged 34.6 yards per game rushing on 5.8 carries on average. That would have given Murray 588 rushing yards last season in 17 games.

By comparison, Penix was worse than Murray was last season despite playing four more games. Penix, in nine games last season, finished with 1,982 passing yards and a 9:3 touchdown to interception ratio. However, Penix completed just over 60% of his passes. Penix did beat out Murray when it came to yards per attempt (7.2 to 6.0) and finished with three more passing touchdowns. Penix also threw the ball more than Murray did last season, with 276 pass attempts over nine games to 161 for Murray over five.

If Murray can see the kind of volume that Penix was putting out, the gap between them in yards would be closed. Over an entire season at his passing average (220 p/g), Penix would have finished with 3,743 passing yards. Penix also finished with a 13.4 fantasy points per game average to Murray’s 15.6.

Murray will be one of the quarterbacks worth watching to see where he lands once free agency gets started. That way, the fantasy community can evaluate what his true fantasy value should be. Murray with the Atlanta Falcons is just one scenario that could work out for the quarterback. It all starts with which team is willing to take a chance on Murray and bring him in.

Jets Land an Amazing Haul in Dane Brugler’s Latest Mock Draft

With the NFL Scouting Combine concluded, the sports world’s greatest NFL Draft analysts now have more information than they have at any point during this offseason. With that information acquired, mock drafts will begin to take the forefront even more than they already have. One of those heralded draft analysts is none other than The Athletic’s Dane Brugler. Brugler is well-renowned for his scouting ability. Every year, he produces one of the most in-depth pieces of draft content out there – The Beast. This serves as a comprehensive draft guide for the public that will be published closer to the draft. What is published, though, is Brugler’s latest mock draft. His latest crack at April’s marquee event covers the first 64 picks of the draft. The Jets have four selections in this range, and Brugler made sure to load them up in this mock draft exercise. Let’s check out who he landed on with these picks.

Round 1, Pick 2 – Ohio State LB/EDGE Arvell Reese

Arvell Reese has been the consensus 2nd overall selection to the Jets in mock drafts for a while now. After the combine, it might be a lock. It was already known before last weekend that Reese was an athletic freak who has versatility between off-ball LB and EDGE rusher. Now, that athleticism is quantifiable. Reese lit the combine ablaze by running a 4.46 40-yard dash featuring a blistering 1.58 10-yard split. He did so while standing at 6’4″ and weighing 241 pounds. He looked great in the drills as well, showcasing his movement ability that could translate to either LB or EDGE at the next level. The coaching ability of Karl Dunbar could help Reese use that athleticism to become a superstar.

Round 1, Pick 16 – USC WR Makai Lemon

Makai Lemon is another popular mock draft selection for the Jets in the first round of this year’s draft. The USC wideout certainly fills a need for the Jets, as they are pretty thin underneath superstar Garrett Wilson. Lemon has the ability to become a superstar in his own right as well. He was highly productive at USC, racking up 1,156 yards and 11 touchdowns on 79 catches in 2025. He’s praised for his route running and contested catch ability. The latter may seem surprising given his frame, but he hauled in 66.7% of his contested targets in 2025. As Dane mentioned in his piece, he could be an Amon-Ra St. Brown-type of player for the Jets. That’s someone that Aaron Glenn has quite a bit of experience with, and one he probably wants to replicate in New York.

Dane also points out that the Jets could potentially opt for more size at WR here. That would imply ASU’s Jordyn Tyson and Washington’s Denzel Boston are firmly in play for the Jets. This would make sense as it would allow Garrett Wilson to exploit matchups in the slot. It will be interesting to see what direction the Jets go at this position in the next month and change.

Round 2, Pick 33 – Georgia LB C.J. Allen

For the Jets’ first pick in the second round of this mock draft, Dane opted to address the LB position with C.J. Allen. This would be a very good outcome. Allen is an underrated player due to positional value. He boasts a high football IQ as he was given the responsibility of the green dot on Kirby Smart’s defense. This defense has produced numerous first-round picks over the last couple of years, including Jalon Walker, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, and Malaki Starks. To be able to lead that unit is worth noting. He would be a solid replacement for Quincy Williams, as they both share the ability to fly around the field and make plays in the backfield. With proper development as a cover guy, he could eventually usurp Jamien Sherwood as the defensive signal-caller.

Round 2, Pick 44 – SDSU CB Chris Johnson

Given the value and the talent, this may be the best pick out of this elite haul. Chris Johnson is another rather underrated prospect in this draft, mostly due to him attending San Diego State. The combine served as a platform for him to make a statement, and he did. Johnson tested very well, running a 4.40 40-yard dash along with hitting a 38″ vertical jump and a 10’6″ broad jump. This goes along with his outstanding 2025 season in which he had 4 interceptions, 5 pass break-ups and only allowed 185 yards in coverage. That 185 yards ranked 12th in the nation out of CBs with at least 267 coverage snaps. Johnson has the ability to become the Jets’ CB1, given Brandon Stephens’ age and the fact that Azareye’h Thomas is coming off an injury.

Overall, this mock draft is an incredible haul for the Jets. They get their potential pass rush ace of the future, an ultra-competitive WR2 with great upside, a highly intelligent LB, and a potential CB1 all within the first 45 picks of the draft. All of this while maintaining their 2027 capital as well. Many Jets fans should be dreaming of this outcome come April.

Eagles Legend “Definitely” Leaving in Free Agency; 3 Suitors Who Could Take a Chance

For the first time in his career, Philadelphia Eagles long-time tight end Dallas Goedert is preparing to hit free agency. Per sources, the Eagles are reportedly “definitely moving on” from the veteran after spending his entire career with the team. Goedert originally came back to the team last offseason after taking on a lesser deal, but it doesn’t look like he’ll take that route for this upcoming season. While Eagles GM Howie Roseman was open to speaking to Goedert’s agent regarding a deal to keep him in Philadelphia, there hasn’t been any progression in talks.

However, the tight end has a chance to sign a long-term 3-year minimum type deal with a new team. The veteran is coming off an explosive 2025 campaign despite the Eagles being a first-round postseason exit, recording 11 touchdowns, which broke the record for most touchdowns by a tight end in a single season in this organization. Similar to what happened to Zach Ertz five seasons ago, Goedert is set to be in a new uniform.

The Eagles have always done well in finding replacements since the Brent Celek era in 2007. It’s been rumored that they’re interested in free agent David Njoku, who’s also going to test the market for the first time. Meanwhile, Goedert isn’t going to get the high-end contract, but he’ll be looking for a long-term deal. Here are three teams that could sign him, at least in a backup role, and provide the next suitor with championship stability.

Dallas Goedert “Definitely” Leaving in Free Agency; 3 Suitors Who Could Take a Chance

Possible Fits

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers had a chance to re-sign starting tight end Cade Otton to a new contract, but they haven’t entertained any talks. With Otton hitting the market, the team will search for a new tight end for Baker Mayfield and this offense. The team is at risk of losing an integral veteran piece in their offense in wide receiver Mike Evans, so they need to sign a few established weapons to help Mayfield. Tampa Bay is not rebuilding and wants to win sooner rather than later, so Goedert might give them that championship-feel tool.

The Eagle legend isn’t going to overhaul this entire offense, but given that this offense is getting young between Emeka Egbuka and Jalen McMillan, Goedert’s presence would be needed, especially for Mayfield in the playoffs, which the team has struggled in recent appearances.

Los Angeles Rams

The Rams could be in the market for another tight end themselves. After spending his entire career with the Rams, Tyler Higbee will be a free agent. Colby Parkinson has won the starting job, but they still need a true veteran presence in the same room if they want to appear in the NFC Championship Game again. With Matthew Stafford returning for possibly one more season, why not sign Goedert on a three-year deal to give Sean McVay another weapon to pair with Parkinson?

Kansas City Chiefs

The same can be said about the Kansas City Chiefs. Even though the team missed the postseason this past year for the first time in nearly a decade, Kansas City should be back. Despite the team restructuring Patrick Mahomes’ contract and plan to release Jawaan Taylor, the Chiefs will probably only sign a couple of free agent veterans on a bargain. Tight end Travis Kelce is leaning towards returning, but the team could roll the dice on Goedert for a couple of seasons when Kelce retires and develop the next generation after Goedert is completely done.

Endgame in Illinois?–The Chapters of the Bears’ New Stadium Hunt

Where will the Chicago Bears play in the foreseeable future?  Is a new stadium the endgame in Illinois, or Indiana?

This has been one of the biggest questions that the NFL world is still waiting for to be answered. For over a century, the Bears have called Illinois home, and now there are rumors that the Bears are looking for greener pastures in Northwest Indiana.

The hunt for a new home for the Bears intensified into a high-stakes competition between the two states. Both Illinois and Indiana passed key legislation by the end of February. By doing this, they can attempt to lure the franchise away from each other.

Chicago Bears Stadium In Arlington Heights (Plan A)

The Chicago Bears have already purchased the 326-acre Arlington International Racecourse site in Arlington Heights, Illinois. This seemed to many fans and journalists that the Bears were just going to move out of Chicago. But now with Indiana as an option, the Bears have some decisions to make.

The Bears could stick with the purchase of the Arlington racetrack. That would be a reasonable option because they already own it. On February 26, 2026, committees from the Illinois House advanced a ‘mega-projects’ bill that would freeze the property taxes for the site. This move provides the ‘tax certainty’ the team demanded.

Chicago Bears Stadium In Northwest Indiana (Plan B)

However, if the Bears move to Indiana, the state is going to have to play the waiting game. They have done a thorough job trying to lure the team away from Illinois. Thanks to Indiana Governor Mike Braun, he signed legislation to order funding for a potential stadium near the Wolf Lake area of northwest Indiana.

Chicago Bears Stadium In Lake Front (Plan C)

After leaving Wrigley Field, Soldier Field has been the home of the Bears since 1971. Soldier Field underwent a renovation in 2002. Yet it is still one of the smallest stadiums in the NFL.

There is always the chance that the Bears could also stay in Chicago, but it is highly unlikely. 2024 saw a proposal for a new arena south of where Soldier Field was, and it is currently stuck in neutral. Because of opposition from advocacy groups, this plan is slowly becoming a vapor.

Schedule Moving Forward

So with all this news, what is expected to happen going forward?

On March 18, lawmakers in the state of Illinois are expected to decide to possibly vote on the property tax legislation required to keep the team in Arlington Heights. The Bears had initially hoped to break ground in 2025, but delays and the lack of a decision made that impossible.

The city of Chicago is also unveiling a potential $630 million renovation for Soldier Field if the Bears decide to stay back home. But whether or not they decide to even stay in the state of Illinois will be up to them.
