Avieon Terrell Scouting Report

Measurables:

Height- 5’11”

Weight- 180 lbs

Background:

Terrell attended Westlake High School in Atlanta, Ga., where he was a three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He committed to Clemson and played in 13 games with five starts his first season with the team. Terrell started all 14 games the next season in 2024, and led the team in pass deflections with 12, recorded two interceptions, and three forced fumbles to help Clemson win the ACC Championship and reach the College Football Playoff. He earned second-team All-ACC honors. In 2025, Terrell led the ACC in forced fumbles and recorded nine pass deflections. He earned first-team All-ACC honors, was named a Jim Thorpe Award semifinalist, and was named a third-team AP All-American. Terrell is the brother of Atlanta Falcons cornerback A.J. Terrell.

Strengths:

Terrell is a fluid and explosive athlete with incredible movement skills. He has great quickness and change of direction speed with a good ability to quickly flip his hips and accelerate. Terrell has great long speed to stay with receivers vertically downfield and amazing ball tracking skills. He has good instincts and excels in zone coverage. Terrell has excellent closing speed to quickly close throwing windows and disrupt passes. He plays with high effort and competitive toughness as well. Terrell is a very willing and reliable tackler in run support, and he is also an effective cornerback blitzer. He also has a knack for forcing fumbles with eight forced fumbles in his last two seasons, including the third most in the entire country in 2025, with five forced fumbles.

Weaknesses:

Terrell is an undersized cornerback at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds. He has solid strength and physicality at his size, but can still struggle against bigger receivers and get boxed out in contested catch situations. Terrell decreased the number of penalties he had in 2025, but he can be a bit too grabby in coverage. While Terrell had nine pass deflections last season and forced many turnovers through forced fumbles, he did not record an interception in 12 games played during the 2025 season.

Potential Team Fits:

Los Angeles Rams

Detroit Lions

Minnesota Vikings

Seattle Seahawks

NFL Projection:

Terrell is an explosive athlete with smooth movement skills and great hip fluidity. He has both tremendous short-area quickness and amazing long speed to carry receivers vertically downfield. Size is the main concern for Terrell. He does lose some contested catch battles against bigger receivers, and he can be too grabby in coverage at times as well. Terrell has shown the ability to play both on the outside and in the slot if needed, though, and he plays the position with good physicality and competitive toughness. He is able to stick with receivers in man coverage and has solid awareness, discipline, and instincts in zone coverage. With his athleticism, movement skills, run defense value, ability to play both man and zone coverage at a high level, and versatility to play both on the outside and in the slot, Terrell is one of the top cornerback prospects in the draft.
