Fantasy Football Rankings: Top 10 Tight Ends For Week 10

The tight end rankings in fantasy football continue to be a weekly struggle for most of us. If you drafted Brock Bowers this season, he had been giving you nothing but headaches for about nine weeks before exploding last week for 3 touchdowns and over 30 fantasy points. Hopefully, it wasn’t too little too late for his managers, who have had to play without their 2nd round pick for the vast majority of this season.

Meanwhile, Trey McBride owners have to be celebrating the news that Jacoby Brissett will remain under center for Arizona for at least another four weeks with Kyler Murray hitting the IR this week. McBride has scored four touchdowns in three games with Brissett, while scoring only two in about two seasons with Murray.

Around the league, we had another rookie breakout performance, and this time it was by the rookie we had been expecting to see it from all season. Colston Loveland showed us what the Bears saw in him to make him a first-round selection by thumping the Bengals with 6 grabs, 118 yards, and two scores. A performance like that might just vault you into the top ten at a shaky position like tight end. Let’s take a look at our Week 10 tight end rankings and see if the Bears rookie has made the grade.

Week 10 Tight End Rankings

1) Trey McBride vs. Seahawks

We’re sticking with McBride here, despite Bowers’ big week. The fact that he will get to play with Brissett for another 4 weeks gives us the confidence that he will remain relevant in the red zone, which was the only missing piece in his otherwise elite resume entering this season. If McBride manages to score 10+ touchdowns, then he will finish the season as a top 12 receiver in PPR formats rather than just a top 3 tight end. He’s on pace to eclipse 100 catches and 1,000 yards again this season and remains an elite option every week. This week, the Cardinals face a familiar foe in Seattle, and McBride will be heavily involved in the game plan. The Seahawks rank 17th against the pass, but 23rd overall in DVOA against the tight end position.

2) Brock Bowers vs. Broncos

Where have you been all season, big fella? Bowers looked to be fully healthy and over the knee ailment that slowed him down on opening day. He looked fast and explosive, and when he’s on top of his game, there isn’t a defense that will be able to stop him completely. The Broncos have the top-ranked pass defense, but they typically funnel passes to the middle of the field with their dominant cornerback play and elite pass rush. Patrick Surtain is still out, but that really doesn’t affect Bowers. He will pile up receptions underneath, in the middle of the field, but may struggle to break any long plays. He is still an elite option at this position, but I wouldn’t expect anything close to what we saw last week.
