1. New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints aren’t postseason contenders anytime soon, but it shouldn’t stop them from making defensive moves. After trading for DeVaughn Vele and claiming Trey Palmer off waivers, the Saints should treat the defense like they’ve been doing for its offense, which needs a huge boost in the secondary. Alontae Taylor and Kool-Aid McKinstry are the anchors of their pass secondary, but they lack depth, and someone like Williams could be a solid fit on this team.
It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Saints get Williams to reunite with safety Justin Reid to slowly build an efficient and championship secondary, which could help boost their chances for a huge run next year, no matter who is the quarterback leading the pack.
