Kyren Lacy, a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana, began his collegiate career at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before transferring to LSU in 2022. Over three seasons with the Tigers, Lacy played in 39 games and recorded 112 receptions for 1,692 yards and 16 touchdowns. He made his biggest impact in his final season, leading the team with nine receiving touchdowns and finishing second in both receptions (58) and receiving yards (866).   Heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, many analysts projected Lacy as a late first- to early second-round pick, thanks to his size, athleticism, and breakout senior season.

Legal Troubles Before Kyren Lacy’s Death

In December 2024, police linked Lacy to a fatal car crash in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana, that caused the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall. Authorities later charged him with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle. A grand jury planned to hear the case on Monday, April 14.
