Overview, Film Analysis, And 2025 Scouting Report Of UConn OL Chase Lundt

Measurables:

  • 6’7”
  • 304 lbs

Player Background:

Chase Lundt committed to UConn before his 2019 graduation from Martin HS and played out his entire college career with them. He was ranked as a two-star recruit out of Texas and was rated outside of the Top-200 offensive tackle prospects. His freshman year resulted in a redshirt, not appearing in any contests. The next season was similar, as he didn’t see any time during the COVID-19 year.

2021 was the beginning of his run of starts, leading the team at right tackle for 11 total games. Lundt started every one of the Huskies’ 2022 contests, being a respectable presence on the right side. He continued the trend in 2023, improving steadily and working on one of the top offensive lines in the nation. He finished his career on a strong note, starting in 13 games and posting a fantastic 86.7 PFF grade.

Accolades:

  • NFL Combine Invitee (2024)

Strengths/Pros:

Lundt is an absolute madman when he’s on the move and runs through defenders like a steam train. He launches himself at defenders with great force to drive them out of rushing lanes, and his upper-half violence lets him engage with defenders in an instant. He has a good enough burst to get to the outside and push through defenders trying to work around him. He’s also able to slow himself down and process when in space to position himself well before attacking. He keeps his head aware of his surroundings when clearing rushing lanes to avoid any blindsides.

He stays disciplined when rushers take extended routes before making contact and matches their movements well. Lundt has strong rotational arms to keep defenders within his base on the edge and possesses quick feet off the snap to rotate out and combat stunts. He engages well with his arms when he loses initial leverage and can trap defenders legally off the edge without getting too grabby.

Weaknesses/Cons:

Many of Lundt’s technical issues come when he’s working in tighter quarters at the line. His arm length is subpar, and they are often low and late when attacking early in plays. Quicker defenders can put him off balance and force him into uncomfortable positions, neutralizing his hands. His arms are also often late when rotating around the line, causing similar issues with smarter and faster rushers.

Lundt can often be late when working off of help blocks, leaving defenders unaccounted for. He tries to work into his back foot prematurely at times and can get out-manuevered or simply blown through. His lower half is still too lean, and he doesn’t have the best base to sink into, despite his natural size. He leans with his upper half too much on the move with his upper half, and defenders can bait him into losing his balance. He needs to stay within his base more when pulling to prevent accidentally taking up important space.

Potential Team Fits:

NFL Projection:

Lundt is a solid overall tackle prospect, but his projection varies quite a bit depending on where he ends up. His prowess when navigating through space and operating in outside zone schemes likely makes him a starting-caliber player in a similar NFL system, but having to adapt to a different one would make a backup or rotational role much more realistic. His size and movement skills give him a respectable floor worthy of a late Day 2 or Early Day 3 pick. If he winds up in the right system, that value could easily be surpassed, but if not, his future is hard to project.

Prospect Grade:

  • Early To Mid 4th Round

Film Exposures:

  • 2024 vs. North Carolina
  • 2024 vs. Syracuse
  • 2024 vs. Duke
