2025 NFL Draft: Tyler Booker Scouting Report

Tyler Booker enters the 2025 NFL Draft as one of the top interior offensive line prospects available. His Relative Athletic Score (RAS) shows a true guard meant to play in a phone booth and this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Booker had a tremendous college career where he was a three-year player for the Crimson Tide. His coming out party was in his senior season when he fully blossomed into the upper echelon of offensive guards. In 2024, Booker was selected as a permanent team captain, named a first-team All-American by both CBS Sports and USA Today, earned second-team All-America recognition from the AFCA, Associated Press, FWAA, The Sporting News, and Walter Camp, and was chosen as a first-team All-SEC honoree by both the AP and the conference coaches. Booker would start in all 13 games last season, allowing just half a sack, and graded out at 92.3% for the year.

When you watch the tape on Booker, you see why he’s so highly regarded in NFL circles. He is a force to be reckoned with and has exceptional mental and physical traits. His technique is solid and this allows him to quickly recover if he’s initially beaten at the point of attack. Booker will fit in nicely with almost any offense and is a fun player to watch dominate in confined spaces.

Strengths

  • Prototypical size for the interior offensive line;
  • Supremely strong, especially in the upper body;
  • Above-average grip strength to sustain blocks;
  • Elite arm length at 34 1/2″;
  • Fantastic in pass protection with exceptional ability to anchor;
  • Shows good burst on lead blocks.

Weaknesses

  • Footwork needs refinement;
  • Inconsistent run blocker;
  • Lateral agility is concerning at times;
  • Plays top-heavy;
  • Lunges on reach blocks;
  • Has trouble diagnosing complex blitz schemes.

Bottom Line on Tyler Booker

The bottom line on Booker is that he’s a powerful man built to play the interior of the offensive line. His strength can overwhelm you but this also can be a curse and sometimes leads to issues when he relies too much on raw force to win. Booker is smart and a natural-born leader with great character who plays like it. These intangibles will help him get past the difficult days early in his career at the next level. Lastly, while he doesn’t have position flexibility, his profile is just too good to ignore for a left guard. With proficient coaching and a favorable landing spot, Booker could start in year one and quickly develop into a Pro Bowl caliber player.
