2025 NFL Draft: Xavier Restrepo Scouting Report

As a fifth-year senior Xavier Restrepo finished his college career with his best season yet ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. He racked up 69 catches with 1,127 yards and 11 touchdowns, leading the ACC in yards and touchdowns. His career has shown solid growth over every year and cemented himself as the number one pass catcher this past season for the Hurricanes.

Restrepo had to wait his turn to finally get on the field at Miami. He played a limited role early on, totaling just over 600 receiving yards in his first three years combined. However, in his fourth season, he burst onto the scene for Miami as a slot receiver. Over the past two seasons, Restrepo has a combined 2,219 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.

Bottom Line on Xavier Restrepo

There’s a lot to like about Xavier Restrepo’s game and path to the NFL. It is evident how much work he has put into refining his route running and ability to beat man coverage. He dominates corners underneath, with a variety of out, in, and return routes. He can also stretch the field with double moves from the slot that can leave corners lost on the field. While he’s a bit smaller, he fights for the ball in the air and has excellent body control which can offset his smaller frame. Overall, He has a knack for getting free at the line of scrimmage and moving the chains.

While he is quick and explosive in short areas, his physical limitations hold him back from being an outside receiver. He does not possess true track speed and lacks creativity with the ball in his hands. Additionally, he can struggle with physicality, significantly slowing him down on deeper route concepts. In the current NFL, many teams seem more interested in slot receivers with incredible speed or the more physically imposing ones. Both are traits that Restrepo does not naturally possess.

Restrepo is a tough and solid player who will add a different element to someone’s receiving core. While the physical limitations will scare some teams away from him, a handful of teams could get the best out of his strengths. Sean Payton with the Denver Broncos has been successful with players who thrive in the short areas. Restrepo would fit well with Denver as a slot receiver and a reliable third-down target for Nix and the Broncos offense while also being able to threaten deep.
