Wide receiver Davante Adams joined the New York Jets midway through the 2024 season, but he could be on to his next team in 2025. One of the greatest talents of his generation, Adams and quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent their respective primes dominating defenses through the air. While the two never won a title together, Rodgers’ ridiculous arm talent combined with Adams’ route running prowess and strength on the outside made them arguably the most dangerous duo of the late 2010s.
Adams proved he was more than just a product of Rodgers with two strong seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, with the team in a rebuild, Vegas decided to trade the aging wide receiver to a Jets team that was supposed to be in contention. Instead, New York crashed and burned, falling to 3-8 while firing head coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas. Set to embrace a rebuild, New York will probably trade Davante Adams during the offseason, and any one of these organizations could be his next team.
Top 5 Fits For Davante Adams Next Team
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints can still make the playoffs and all signs indicate that the team will not rebuild following the firing of head coach Dennis Allen. This means the team will do their usual round of restructures, Derek Carr will return for another season, and Davante Adams could find his next team in the Big Easy. With Chris Olave’s future uncertain, the team must add another reliable set of hands to the mix. Adams originally joined the Raiders because he wanted to play with Carr, and the two connected for over 1,500 yards during their lone season together.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be a fascinating team to watch in the offseason, as they must figure out what to do with their free agent quarterbacks and land another reliable wide receiver. Former second-round pick George Pickens looks like the real deal, but this team could use another option to complement the up-and-coming wide receiver. The present-day version of Davante Adams might not be as exciting as the top free agents, but he should be more affordable for a team that might need to spend big on the quarterback position.
Los Angeles Chargers
Justin Herbert and first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh are a match made in heaven, as the two are 8-3 and have a shot at stealing the AFC West title from the Kansas City Chiefs. While the defense is great, this success wouldn’t be possible without Herbert elevating one of the worst supporting casts in football. Second-round pick Ladd McConkey looks like the real deal and Quentin Johnston is a solid role player, but this team could use another option. Davante Adams still has plenty left in his tank and the Chargers could be the perfect next team for the three-time All-Pro.
New England Patriots
The Patriots have their quarterback of the future in third-overall pick Drake Maye. Now they just need to build the rest of the team. The UNC product is making it work with what is easily the worst overall collection of talent in the league, so imagine what he could do with another year of experience and a legitimate receiver in Davante Adams? The only question is whether or not the Jets would ever trade Adams to their most hated division rival.
Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens knew they needed another wide receiver when they acquired Diontae Johnson at the trade deadline. Unfortunately, that move hasn’t worked out, as the former Steeler has recorded just one reception for six yards since joining his new team. Zay Flowers is a legitimate weapon, but Mark Andrews is getting older and Rashod Bateman cannot establish himself in this passing attack. Adams could be the perfect addition to this passing attack and, when paired with Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson, could create the league’s most unstoppable unit.
