Week 6 waivers are an interesting batch. Some running backs are moving into larger roles for their offense, while the Chiefs are trying to replace Rashee Rice in the aggregate. Whether it’s a one-week option while waiting for bye weeks or injuries, or a long-term stash for a playoff run, these Week 6 waiver options will have you set.
Week 6 Waivers – Chiefs Wide Receivers, Running Back Options and More Fantasy Football
JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kansas City Chiefs Wide Receiver
Absolutely insane that Smith-Schuster was cut from the New England Patriots, then just walked into the WR1 role in Kansas City. He had the fifth most receiving yards Week 5, and he may be fool’s gold but he’s worth picking up to find out. He won’t be a hot pickup with the Chiefs on bye, so sneak him onto your roster while you can.
Jordan Whittington, Los Angeles Rams Wide Receiver
Also on a Week 6 bye, Whittington will have value as long as Kupp or Nacua miss time. The Rams defense has taken a serious step back, and as long as Stafford is slinging it Whittington should be a FLEX option.
Jalen Tolbert, Dallas Cowboys Wide Receiver
Brandin Cooks is on IR, and Tolbert has moved into the WR2 role quite comfortably. He had ten targets against Pittsburgh Week 5, and the Lions in Week 6 will do everything they can to make Dallas beat them without Ceedee Lamb having a big game. For a short-term option, Tolbert should be the top add at wide receiver.
Tank Bigsby, Jacksonville Jaguars Running Back
Is Travis Etienne so hurt he’s going to miss time, or just play in a split role for the foreseeable future? Either way, Bigsby has been making the most of his touches. He’s fourth in the league in rush yards over expected, and the coaches can’t afford to keep him on the sideline.
Tyrone Tracy, New York Giants Running Back
Hands up, Tracy was too far down the pre-draft running back rankings. He’s a converted wide receiver who gave the Giants a big boost in Week 5. If Singletary is active, it will be hard to plug him into lineups in the coming weeks. But he’s explosive with the ball in his hands and could overtake the lead role before long.
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets Tight End
Death, taxes, and Tyler Conklin getting a strange number of targets. He’s currently eighth among tight ends in targets, and with how barren the tight end position has been this year that’s a win.
Ja’Tavion Sanders, Carolina Panthers Tight End
Don’t look now, but Sanders just had his first game over 70% of snaps. He converted that into five targets for only three receptions, but brighter days are ahead. If your team needs a stash for later in the season, or a bye week is coming up for your primary tight end, Sanders role in the offense will grow and his best attribute is what he does with the ball in his hands after the catch.
Texans D/ST
There are rumbles that the Patriots could start Drake Maye this week. If that’s true, turnovers should be easy pickings for the Texans. If not, Jacoby Brissett shouldn’t strike fear into anyone, so the Texans are one of the top streaming options this week.
