The Chiefs and Ravens may be trade suitors for 4,100-yard playmaker, Devin Singletary this season. According to NFL insider Dan Graziano, he highlights Singletary as a trade asset if the Giants become sellers this upcoming trade deadline in November. The chances of the Giants being sellers again are high since coming off two big losses which could lead to more trouble for them. If rookie Tyrone Tracy Jr outplays Singletary then the Giants may have to consider trading him since Daniel Jones is already underperforming either way.
New York may have to rebuild even though Singletary signed a three-year deal with the team this past offseason. It wouldn’t make sense now but for the team’s future, it seems like it could work out for them. Every season has been looking the same for the Giants and if they continue losing, it shouldn’t surprise anyone if they trade Singletary, Jalin Hyatt or Darius Slayton. The Browns may be a fit for Singletary but Graziano says Kansas City could be suitors for the 27-year-old.
However, Graziano says Cleveland or Las Vegas may be a fit but he seems more suitable in a Super Bowl-caliber team. A roster like the Ravens is struggling to find an insurance policy behind Derrick Henry since losing Keaton Mitchell this offseason. Henry isn’t carrying the running game often so they must get someone to share the workload, especially since has a long list of injuries. Isiah Pacheco will eventually come back but no one can guarantee that he’ll be the same player.
Even if he is the same, there should be extra support for him since Clyde Edwards-Helaire will likely sustain another bust season. Rookie Carson Steele may have to step up but he isn’t ready for a large role yet.

Giants Should Move On
New York would probably get a good chance of getting a good amount of picks in return for selling Singletary. He’s been solid so far this season after recording 26 carries for 132 yards and one touchdown. However, the Giants wouldn’t want his talent to go to waste. They’re better off establishing the running backs they got from the draft to build a new regime.
This is why Singletary could shine now while Pacheco is out with an injury in Kansas City. He would become the team’s number-one running back and prove himself a worthy backup. Although the Chiefs brought in Kareem Hunt and undrafted rookie Keaontay Ingram to join third-down running back Samaje Perine, they should add a player who can produce results now. Andy Reid will likely rotate his running backs so why not trade for someone like Singletary to see what he can do?
The same case could be said for Baltimore. John Harbaugh doesn’t expect to see Henry get the ball all the time which is true being that Justice Hill has been getting a majority of snaps since earning his new contract. Singletary could serve as an immediate backup if Henry gasses out.
Other Potential Trade Destinations
Carolina Panthers
Just like the Giants, the Panthers will likely become sellers. Carolina has three running backs that have the potential to go far like Chuba Hubbard, Miles Sanders and rookie Jonathon Brooks. The issue is that Sanders has been disappointing and can’t his rhythm in this offense. It may be safe to roll the dice again and trade Sanders in exchange for Singletary. A change of scenery for these two in their struggling backfield may improve their playing time and usage.
Los Angeles Chargers
Singletary isn’t getting the initial start since they have two solid backfield playmakers in J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards. Jim Harbaugh loves the running game and Justin Herbert is dealing with a high-ankle sprain so they’re depending on the backfield more than ever. Dobbins and Edwards have gone through the bad and ugly of injuries. Someone like Singletary should be able to give them additional support since he could make an immediate impact.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys may not be looking to add any more running backs but they would be foolish to not take a look and trade for one. Miles Sanders and now Devin Singletary are potential players who may land a job in Dallas. America’s team has one of the worst collection of running backs this year even though they have veterans Ezekiel Elliott and Dalvin Cook. Singletary isn’t changing the entire success of the run game but he could probably get his first 1,000-yard consecutive season if he gets the start.
