The New Orleans Saints remain busy in the leadup to the regular season, as the team has reportedly brought in XFL star wide receiver Jahcour Pearson for a free agent visit. Pearson, an Ole Miss product, led the spring league with 60 receptions for 670 receiving yards while putting himself on the NFL radar.

Saints Bring In XFL Star Jahcour Pearson For Workout
Chances are, Jahcour Pearson will not end up on the Saints 53-man roster. However, he could easily earn a spot on the practice squad. New Orleans has a great young receiver in Chris Olave and a reliable deep threat in Rahid Shaheed, but the rest of the depth chart is wide open. A.T. Perry showed signs of life as a rookie, but he’s anything but a proven commodity as the third receiver in this offense. Pearson’s impressive XFL career could be enough to earn a spot on the practice squad and, if he continues to improve, he might earn some regular season snaps late in the year.
Jahcour Pearson spent his college football years at Western Kentucky and Ole Miss before going undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. The wide receiver earned invites to the New York Giants and New York Jets minicamp but ultimately couldn’t latch on with either organization. He did, however, find a home with the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons. Immediately breaking out, Pearson finished the season with 60 receptions for 670 receptions and four touchdowns while adding an additional six receptions for 56 yards and a score in Seattle’s lone playoff game.
While he didn’t draw any interest from the Saints or any other NFL team, Jahcour Pearson returned to spring football for the 2024 season. Now merged with the UFL, the St. Louis Battlehawks used the second-overall pick to secure his services. Unfortunately, injuries limited him to just four games, but he still recorded 21 receptions for 167 yards and a touchdown during his limited time on the field.
