Safety Justin Simmons is coming off yet another strong season with the Denver Broncos. Despite getting up there in years, the 30-year-old thrived in his first season playing under head coach Sean Payton. Starting and appearing in 15 games, the former third-round pick finished the season with three interceptions, eight passes defended, two forced fumble, one sacks, 70 tackles, and two tackles-for-loss. Simmons made the second Pro Bowl of his career, but it wasn’t enough to stop Denver from releasing him in a cost-cutting move.

Justin Simmons originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Selected by the Denver Broncos, the Boston College product spent his rookie season as a promising rotational player. Appearing in 13 games while making three starts, the rookie finished his inaugural season with two interceptions, four passes defended, one sack, 30 tackles, and two tackles-for-loss.

Simmons built upon that promising season to earn a full-time starting job in 2017. Starting and appearing in 13 games, the safety finished his second season with two interceptions, five passes defended, one sack, 69 tackles, and four tackles-for-loss.

After another solid season, Justin Simmons began to establish himself as one of the best in the game during the final year of his rookie season. Earning Second-Team All-Pro honors, Simmons started all 16 games while recording four interceptions, 15 passes defended, 93 tackles, and two tackles-for-loss. He maintained that high level of play, earning either Pro Bowl or Second-Team All-Pro honors in five consecutive seasons.

Since signing his rookie contract, Justin Simmons has appeared in 118 games while making 108 starts. During his time on the field, the former third-round pick has recorded 30 interceptions, 604 tackles, and 64 passes defended.
